Mueller Report Imminent

I find this interesting.. This explains why you tend to pick at Democrats when there are some really crazy posts by Republicans that don't get the same treatment.

I guess I better get ready. I'm sure this will be considered a looney post, and I'll be picked at for my naive opinions...

This is not the thread to get into this, but here goes.

I know Obama wasn't popular here being a Republican board (Obama Derangement Syndrome?) but why do you think he harmed this country?

I always thought the guy was pretty chill (and still is). He and his wife usually lead popularity polls. (I know, polls) He was President when we got Bin Laden. He gave Trump a good economy.

I am no fan of Fox news, so I wonder why so many thought him divisive? I would guess being the first black President, he did bring a different perspective to the office. I felt like people of color were more comfortable to speak up about police brutality toward their race--which got a bit uncomfortable being a fan of police. That said, I also realize there are bad people everywhere, and perhaps I needed to open my mind. I also felt like the country was kinder towards people who were different. Gays were able to marry, which upsets some people, particularly if you think church and State shouldn't be separated and marriage should be one woman and one man. During Sandy Hook, he wept over the kids, which seemed to upset the Tea Party and conservatives who liked their guns. They felt he was putting on a show, but I always admired the way he was with children, and didn't find it far fetched that a person with any amount of feelings would weep during a speech about kindergarten kids getting killed.

Also, in the Republican presidential debates, they were talking about embracing the immigrant until Trump spoke up. (the rest is history)

OTOH, Trump? He doesn't seem to embrace anyone but his base, and even then he will turn if they criticize him (See Fox news) People are far more comfortable being racist, and sadly I've seen some people who I thought were my friends true colors, which saddens me.

I knew Trump was vindictive, long before he became President. Still, with the good economy, maybe if he had stayed off twitter and had more diplomacy and less hate, people would be more open toward him. Right now, I think he will lose the election due to the fact that people don't merely dislike him, they despise him. (See Hilary Clinton)

Whole lot of “seems” and “feelings” going on in this post without a whole lot of facts.

“Seemed to upset conservatives because they love their guns” is a moronic statement.

Just skip past the seems and feels if it bothers you. This is me, an average American and how i felt when Obama was president. I didn't study politics in school, Just my perspective of what was going on with social media then and now.

As I recall, they were afraid that people would take their guns-- sales went up, lots of criticism about Obama being fake because he shed tears over kinderqarten kids, which was what was truly moronic. Conservatives Mock Obama For Crying About Newtown School Shooting | HuffPost

I am definitely not racist. if Person of color is a racist term, I had no idea. When looking up if it is acceptable, the answer is yes-- but I won't ever use it again.

Effectively and actually are two different things. Why not release your transcripts if it is not such a big deal?

Exactly
Why would president Obama not release them since it’s no big deal. Same reason Trump won’t release his taxes.
They’re both a couple of assholes. They both know there’s nothing that can be learned by their political opposition by them being released but it a thorn in the side of your enemies so keep them private just to be a dick.

Glad to see you finally grasping that Obama and Trump are exactly the same type of person.

There was nothing left to read if I skip you feelings.

Except one is “colored”.

Nice try, Amigo. I would not release my transcripts if I were running for office because there is no established precedent for it. W is the only one who released his - because he actually wanted to prove his ignorant a$$ went to Yale. There is an established precedent, however, for presidential candidates to release their income tax returns. Obama released his. Why can't Trump?

Don’t be discouraged by people who put on airs to try to score points on the imaginary politics forum scoreboard.

FWIW, I disliked Obama because of the proliferation of drone strikes, several instances where his admin suspended the writ of habeas corpus, reliance on executive orders to bypass congress, failure to close Guantanamo, failure to get us out of Iraq and Afghanistan, and (although I didn’t otherwise) ballooning government spending. I’m sure there are others but I voted for McCain and Romney.

Despite all that, I’m widely regarded as a skeezy liberal around here, so yeah, I wouldn’t worry one wit about whether your opinions are sufficiently based on fact to satisfy the peanut gallery. A) Few of their will be and B) They’ll never be satisfied anyways.

So.....there’s no president except the guy who did it?
And there’s no reason not too.
So President Obama was just being difficult and a decider.
Gotcha

Far from it
At least by me anyway.
This post is an example of what I’m talking about. You and I differ on things but you don’t (seem) to change your opinions based on who is in charge.

I will concede that the vote for MaCain surprises me. I couldn’t bring myself to vote for that guy

Wow. Lmao. If you're going to deflect don't be stupid about it. Atleast dance around it with a little effort (see huff and luther).

And you know why he isn't releasing any of that stuff. It would show his papers he's wrote talking about how bad America is while propping up Middle Eastern countries.

But just like you I’m sure I’m seen as something I’m not as well. I’m beyond discusted to the point of down right pissed off at what’s become of the Democratic Party. I too could list a few things I do like about what Trump has done and a huge list of the things I don’t like about him. I couldn’t bring myself to vote for him so I’m likely wasting a 3rd party vote.....again. But I tend to express my frustration on people bitching about trump, doing the exact same things the last few guys did, and generally being more of the same.... it’s assumed that I’m a trump supporter.

I can’t believe you voted for maCain.
(I may be beating that dead horse for a while)

I have problems with far left leaning Democrats too. Maybe a Delaney would work, but I doubt it will happen. Would vote Republican if he wasn't an ******* lunatic..

I agree about getting out of Iraq and Afghanistan. I also appreciate you explaining why you didn't like Obama without calling me a moron and racist.

I pick at some Republicans too, but most choose to ignore those posts or pretend they don't exist. Most of my posts picking at Democrats are over their outrage about Trump. It's over the top, IMO, so yeah, I call it out.

Trump is loud and pompous, so you know where he stands. Other than his taxes, he doesn't hide who he is very well. There's nothing subtle about him. Obama, on the other hand, was a true politician. In this country, there has long been an under current of a black vs. white struggle. Obama fed that. He was in the unique position to get people to realize how little skin color matters, that people should be measured by who they are, not the color of their skin, but he decided to go the other way and highlight the racial divide for popularity points. He did nothing to actually break down racial barriers and unite this country. Instead, he pushed harder at the divide. Obama had the chance to do something truly great, but he didn't. I've never expected greatness from Trump, so I'm not disappointed. That's why I consider Obama a worse President. His failure was greater.

And Obama never embraced anyone other than his base either. Think of his most famous soundbites. Most highlighted sticking it to the right in some way. And his base ate it up. "Elections have consequences." The left cheered. Trump gets elected and they all cry out.

The left acts as if Trump playing to his base is a horrible thing, yet never complained when Obama did the same. Then it was great. That's why I hate politics. I've said it over and over. Each side holds the other side to a standard they themselves do not adhere to. It's hypocrisy to the nth level.

I guess I should try to be more understanding since the only real difference between our perspectives is the direction they’re coming from/pointed in. I just don’t see this presidency as equivalent to either of the prior 2 or even 3 and don’t understand that defense of him, at all.

I would have been dissatisfied with a McCain presidency, I’m sure, but didn’t realize it at that time.

I was effected by the recession and thought that fighting a multi-theatre war was the reason. Thought liberal spending would not get us out of it. I wanted lower taxes and fiscal responsibility. I figured it was a choice between the two but that Iraq and Afghanistan couldn’t last forever and voted for the candidate who I thought would bring fiscal responsibility over the candidate who I thought was more likely to end the war.

It seems I was wrong about pretty much everything.

I have to disagree with giving trump a goid economy when obama literally said tge economy could never get to tge point it got under trump. That's actually the one thing I lije about trump, best economy in my lifetime.

You really have trouble reading sometime or that was a failed attempt to be clever. ONE PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE RELEASED HIS COLLEGE TRANSCRIPT. NO OTHERS HAVE DONE SO. CONGRESSIONAL AND PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATES RELEASE THEIR TAX FORMS. TRUMP DID NOT.

Any other stupid questions?

You counter your own argument. Bush set a precedent by releasing his transcripts. Why didn't Obama? Point being, it's not legally mandated so if you don't want to release private records, you don't have to. All it takes to establish a precedent is for one person to do it.

One candidate out of thousands presenting his transcript is a precedent? No, it is a non pariel. There is a difference.
