Mullen not helping his cause

Bear in mind his AD at UF is the same guy who was his AD at MSU. You almost have to go 2 for 1 if Mullen goes as the nitwit who hired him is going to stay behind and hire the next guy as well? Good luck with that thinking.

It's all about the money! Think a coach would take a job for free? NO, they WANT to be paid and paid well. If you think these coaches do this for the love of the game (some do, but most don't they want a paycheck) you're wrong. They do it for the dollar bills in their wallet.

Really? Then why couldn’t Texas get Saban? Money is very important. But why didn’t Franklin come here? It was reported we offered him 8 million plus. Did he come? No. There are many other factors involved.

Look at Matt Campbell at ISU. He has turned down NFL jobs and other college jobs. Why? Could it be he loves where he is? Remember Chris Petersen at Washington? You think teams didn’t back the trucks up for him over the years? Please. It’s not all about money and to think it is is foolish.

Mullen has his warts. Obviously doesn't seem to be an elite recruiter like other top tier SEC coaches. But Florida also doesn't have the aura it had 10 years ago when it was an elite program. And yet the lowest recruiting class he's had was ranked 14th.

Mullen is a good coach have a bit of bad luck in a rebuilding year. I hope Florida is dumb enough to fire him, but I have a feeling they won't.

How is Florida rebuilding?

How is Florida rebuilding?
Good question. You know.. Tennessee - is a young team now. For the last decade or more - you always hear "This is a young team". There was truth to that. Optimism in recruiting each season. One or two new up and comers. Hopeful optimism and then crushing defeats. We'll get 'em next year, ya know.

Here we are at that same part of the story for Tennessee again. We are a young team. Wait'll next year.
Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expect different results.

But now.. Pump those breaks. It actually appears that the trajectory for the Vols is upward and the trajectory for the Gators is sliding.

The school of hard knocks has taught us, it's the leadership!

We have had a conga line of pretender coaches here at our beloved university. Coaches that build, rebuild and build again, but the thing they are building is never completed.

So @BigOrangeTrain ... you pose a great question. How is Florida rebuilding? This could go on for a while.. that's what I'm saying.

I hope we are beyond this "young team" mentality. Tony Vitello has the solution. When asked about being patient, he said "Patience is for losers".

Which explains something - a good coach won't have a "young team" for long. Let's hope Florida keeps a "young team".
