LSU and UF have set a bar for their next head coach. You must win and win now and we want a championship every other year. This is the same mindset that landed Butch Jones and Jeremy Pruitt at Tennessee. I see these two hires going the same way and could get pretty ugly which is a win for Tennessee.

I swear to God Christmas came early this year. Whoever it is will be fired in three years or less because of unreal expectations and I must admit it puts a smile on my face. Welcome to the beginning of battered gator syndrome.

I swear I hope its Kiffin that would be like the kid you hated down the street from you getting herpes from a toilet seat. Napier knows if he takes the job by 2025 he will be bussing tables at a Denny's in Jax. Maybe Urbs will find a good heart surgeon or Big game Bob can come back and institute a "modern" play style.

Good lord its nice to be pointing and laughing at someone other than ourselves.

To those gators on our board who we hold dear, I will give you two key pieces to get through this decade of darkness I hope your facing.... Alcohol and yard work on Saturdays boys that's about all you guys have to look forward to.


The world is a little brighter today and the sunsets are a little closer to a nice shade of orange.

We can only hope that is the case.

Bad thing being, some of the salaries we are going to see this hiring cycle are going to cause indigestion in AD offices all over the country. Hell, Tucker already cashed in with a contract the Spartans are probably going to regret sooner rather than later.

If CJH keeps on his current trajectory, I would hate to see the size of the check we are going to have to cut him in a few years time. Of course, that is certainly a "good" problem to have.

If he starts slow he may never get off the ground.
Got some serious Tennessee things going on down there. Maybe not to the same level but you can definitely draw some comparisons

I can just say thank goodness Tennessee isn’t looking. They already over pay I can’t imagine what they’d offer “a hope and prayer” coach this time around with Tucker setting the bar.

McElwain had a 10 win season, a 9 win season, and then was fired after 7 games for saying he'd gotten death threats? Who in a position like that hasn't had some whack job threaten them? Won SEC COY. He appeared to have it "going" to an extent. Fired before the end of season 3.

Mullen isn't going to complete his 4th season after producing 10 win seasons in his first two and enduring the Covid year with everyone else last year. He is a VERY clear signal that no coach is going to get "a few seasons to get it going".


I think UT has been TOO patient much of the time. They've made poor hires and then let them hurt the program before cutting bait. Jones is the best example. And... UT has been criticized for being too demanding. But Vol fans and supporters aren't even in your class. You have gotten "top name" coaches... guys that other programs wanted. Guys honestly that a lot of Vol fans wanted who were BETTER than the guys UT got.

One thing is clear... you aren't good at giving a coach "a few seasons" even when they have success.

The death threats thing he totally made up. The first time he mentioned receiving them was in a press conference, and right after the press conference UF's admin came to talk to him about it, wanted to get the police involved etc., but he just shut down and didn't want to talk about it.

I don't think UF is any more or less shrewd than UT is when it comes to firing coaches. When we found ourselves with an opening to fire Pruitt for cause after a bad season, we did so. There is no doubt in my mind the NCAA violations story never sees the light of day and Pruitt is still here if he was good. Dooley got his customary 3 years. Butch appeared to be turning the program around in year 3, but then year 4 ended badly and when the bottom fell out in year 5 he was canned. It isn't like we let people stick around too long either.

UF is better at hiring coaches than UT, but that isn't saying much.

But, the number reason to stay away from UF and hunker down in Lafayette...

His Mama says that alligators are ornery because they got all them teeth and no toothbrush.

Joe Alleva is gone, which is good for LSU.

Unfortunately Jeremy Foley is also gone, which is good for LSU.
