I'm not going to claim this is any one conservative radio show host's responsibility. But when you read this, and couple it with the revelation from Shepard Smith about the emails he's been getting, I will just say that I hope that some of the more strident talk show people will just on their own moderate things a little bit.

I'm ready for you to find another opponent. How about PETA or Greenpeace? I'd say this one has run its course.

he said the same thing Rev Wright said. Jews run Obama. if ur blaming this on conservative radio then you've lost your mind. for 8 years all we heard was the hate from the liberals about bush. rosie, and the rest of those old hags on the view other than the one attractive one made it a point to rag bush. but now the shoe is on the other foot, its a problem

I'm not advocating any government control of their free speech. Just hoping they see that they can join an effort to have a calming influence on people like this, rather than fuel the fires of irrational hate.

I think the hole in your theory here is that he did not trust the government, thought Bush was responsible for 9-11. He certainly doesn't look like the type that would listen to conservative GOP radio. He seems more like the internet conspiracy theorist to me. Doesn't seem to fall into the republican tent to me.

People that repeatedly state what they "are not for" worry me. Remember, the government does not want to be in the car business.

So according to this line of thinking radio and talk show hosts are supposed to not speak their minds because of what some insane fool out there might do? You are advocating the destruction of free speech(self imposed or otherwise) of people who care about the country because of the actions of a few mentally unhinged idiots? That makes perfect sense.

i guess the previous 8 yrs of hate for Bush is ok? i guess ppl cheering that Tony Snow died is ok as long as its in line w/ what the liberals want. obama having the "new black panther" party on his webpage during the election is ok as well.

i had jury duty recently. they had the view on the tv. whoopie might be the most misinformed person on earth when it comes to politics. and that republican chick they have on there is an idiot and doesn't point out the obvious gaps in their arguments. i'm sure that is a coincidence and not intentional with flaming liberals like walters running the show.

So you really think talk show hosts have the ability to calm the crazies?

Oh and the hate for Obama is very rational.

Ah, but therein lies the difference. I totally agree that criticizing Obama for spending, for judiciary appointments, for foreign policy, all that is just fine.

Its the claims that he is not a U.S. citizen, or that he's a secret Muslim sleeper agent, and things of that ilk, that need to be dialed back.

Look at joevol and his use of "Hussein" left and right. I'm telling you, these suspicions are out there and they are inciting irrational fear of Obama.

I have said no regulation. I'm just hoping they will take an honest look at the rhetoric they have been using and realize that a tiny, tiny, tiny, tiny percentage of the people listerning to them have been buying into this stuff.

Its been a little bit like the whole War of the Worlds debacle. There's been this alarmist quality to the rheotric and all I am saying si that I hope these commentators will be mindful of that moving forward.
