Muslims behead yet another person

Ok.

But the issue isn't the numbers, necessarily, even though if there a million that are self avowed terrorist it is a huge problem.

The issue is the mindset. When embassy's are burned and violent riots happen over some insensitive cartoons, yet journalists are beheaded on video and there is a comparative silence from the Muslim community at large, there should be legitimate concern about the Islamic mindset about how terrorism is really viewed.

The mindset seems to be "Islam is a peaceful religion, and if you say otherwise we will spend our energy in violent protest to say otherwise." It might be more nuanced, being "Islam is a peaceful religion, and if you say otherwise we can't be held responsible for violent blowback and we will spend the majority of our efforts condemning those who made the perceived slights rather than those who are burning down embassy's and beheading journalists".

Whether it is the theology or other social factors, there are real problems with the Islamic population worldwide that simply isn't there with Christianity or Judaism. To gloss over it as being a small minority is putting your head in the sand and buying into the politically correct liberal talking point of it being a "peaceful" religion.

Ok. Where is your point of difference?

Point of difference of what? I'm simply stating the mindset set that seems to be prevelant here. The Islamic community's complacency is the bigger issue.

Again, we just saw the public beheading of an American journalist with a promise of more to come. Where the condemnation from Islamic leaders? Would the outcry be more public had a Qu'ran been burned by an American soldier?

It doesn't take actually blowing yourself up to be a part of the problem.

I thought you were responding to my post with a slight disagreement. However, it seems we are in agreement, especially the bold.

The media coverage, as usual, is frustrating. I would like to legitimately know if there are uprisings in the Islamic community over this beheading. We aren't seeing it because either it isn't happening, or the media isn't covering it. I believe it is the former, which is a huge issue and a major component of the problem.

I think the argument could be made that the beheading is far more appalling to Americans (or the west in general) than it is to Arabs/muslims. The west, in large part can't stand the sight of blood (literally and figuratively) - they know that the west is soft when it comes to this.

My understanding is that they behead A) because the act is accepted by muslims as making a violent act, Holy and B) they know it sends a powerful message.

Maybe. It's still frustrating that there is more of a reaction to religious slights than their own beheading somebody or blowing themselves up in a market. This idea of a peaceful religion just isn't there. Moderates can point to theology, doctrine, etc, and argue their case (just like every religion), but the reality is clear on what the priorities really are.

She is a pinay.

Pinay women take no crap and are very dominate in a relationship.

Her walking 3 steps behind me is laughable.

Hell, her walking even with me is even a stretch.

Outside of India, most Asian countries outside of the Middle east region are pretty pro-women and even China is beginning to turn it's view on women to being more positive.

Truth. Love Filipinas.

Yep. Good stuff. Doesn't fit the narrative of mainstream reporting though.

I would love to see a current poll done by pew with the same questions from 2005-2006.
Yes, I would imagined it has changed in some areas.
wouldn't you like to be the one conducting those surveys?

I would prefer to nuke several of the middle east countries and take out millions of muslims and their 3rd world rationalization for their bull****.

And don't really care if you all don't agree either. Tis my opinion. Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iraq, Iran...I would love to see a new world map with blank spots where those countries used to be, and the world would be a much better place without them.

Slowly but seriously becoming my stance as well.

I still want to see statistics on how money the bin laden family has made off the war on terror.

Not as much as you might think. From the US at least. They have significant contracts from the Saudi Government, but the US just used the facilities they helped build as opposed to paying for them.

Maybe that's where some of the missing billions went.

Oh, it's unfortunately our foreign policy. Who the **** do you suppose has armed ISIS? Begins with a C and ends with an A.

The weak-ass Iraqi military that ran at the first sign of trouble and abandoned millions, if not billions, in US supplied weapons. Don't paint it as a direct supplying to ISIS.

I'd say you've been reading too many of Ras's posts.

There is no doubt the USG did business with the Bin Laden family at some point in time. Anyone doing business in Saudi Arabia does business with that family. It's not like a great secret.

Wait, our culture of tolerance has allowed ISIS to develop into the next AQ like threat? So they were able to build a mosque/secret training facility in the US and then transported all of their weapons and fighters to the "levant" in order to form their caliphate. They must have, because that would be the only way I can see our culture contributing to their development.

More than likely, it was out lack of a solid SOFA agreement with the Iraqis and any sort of mutual defense treaty that provided the right circumstances for them to develop.

And of course the weapons shipments from Benghazi to Syria that gave them the means of achieving their goals.

Still not sure where our culture of tolerance (whatever that is) comes into play.

Think you misunderstood his post; he's saying all the things we tolerate are things they oppose and part of the reason they hate us. Our foreign policy and meddling isn't the only reason why they perceive us as an enemy. The toleration of the things listed is a roadblock to their ideal worldwide Islamic state.

Our meddling is how they recruit and rationalize attacks on us.
