Muslims behead yet another person

Goes both ways bubba, there are many "civilians" who choose to stay and keep their families in war zones. Guess you believe those reporters deserved what they got?

Your correct personal responsibility is a tough thing.

I never said they deserved it but it was a risk they were willing to take. I personally don't think US personnel should have been put at risk to rescue them either.

What is being advocated by some is a first strike on a group that has only threatened the US on Twitter. Are we that thin skinned?

Talk of a nuclear attack is just that, talk. I don't think a one on this board would give that order (well maybe 1 or 3) if they had the power.

A few B-52 arc-light runs over their positions wouldn't be unjustified though.

And if those bombs kill innocents how are we any better than them? Do we still strive to be?

I don't think we do. Nice, nice time is over.

If your going to wrestle with pigs, be prepared to get muddy!

Couldn't have put it better myself.

No reason to play nice now. Now is the time to go in and start reminding folks you don't poke the angry tiger with a stick.

You're taking a shot at my kids now? You sure know how to keep it classy even when you have nothing to ever add to any discussion

I've got plenty to add, you're just to blind to acknowledge it. And FTR I said I pity your kids, providing you even have any. Your libertarian view of foreign affairs proves once again why they're unelectable ...

We helped create/enable them and now we need to go fight them? If I was a defense contractor selling weapons I'd be excited. Not that those guys have any pull in US policy though

You have to break a few eggs to make an omelette. Thank god our grandparents didn't stick their heads in the sand..

We should have supported Assad, we shouldn't have taken out Saddam/Kaddafi and immediately supported Sissi in taking out the Muslim Brotherhood. There are a myriad of things we could of and should of done. No use crying over spilt milk now.

We have bad guys on the ground, we need to take them out and stand behind the next brutal dictator who can keep the region under control and be somewhat friendly to us.

Why do we need to support anyone? Just take some time and let things play out a bit

We did those things without thinking of the consequences and are reacting using the same method. Eventually someone needs to step back and look more than 6mos into the future. Fighting a group one day and among them the next is only good for people making money off the conflict

Support or be indifferent to, whatever gets the job done.

You are incorrect, there are many in control of our government who are looking well beyond 6 moths out. It's just what they are looking for is not always what's best for the country.

It's a reality of war.

I know it doesn't make any difference to they guy who just had his house blown up or daughter killed....but the difference is when we strike we make every effort to avoid civilian casualties, while the other side specifically targets them.

I agree though. A few targeted drone strikes here and there (what we have been doing) is fine, but I don't see how the situation has changed enough to justify the mission creep.

Or, we can stop pretending that the people there want McDonald's on every corner, Iphones, and Democracy just like they have it in Arkansas.

What has been done to justify ratcheting up the firepower from what we are already doing? How has the situation changed?

I believe that is pretty much what I said. And you obviously haven't been to Arkansas.

Then why the sudden policy changes months later if they understand a long term view? We constantly want to fight people using the reasoning that we know what they want better than they do. We can't constantly be calling the people in DC bozos on domestic issues and geniuses on foreign policy when both are an absolute mess

$$$$$$$$

Nothing more.

But why are people ok with that? It doesn't make average Joe any more money and likely costs him in the long run. Maybe we need to stay thinking for ourselves instead of letting kings and princes control our military

Well no shizz.

In that case you had better start studying, I pity your kids, that is if you're even allowed to procreate in your state. Go right ahead and stick your head back in the sand where it belongs. If our government had that point of view in the 40's we'd all be speaking German.

I think the majority of folks here (and in general) would take his word before yours. I know you don't care, but pj isn't a social pariah.
