That's complete hyperbole, but nice argument.

The Vikings won 6 games where they held the opposition to 14 or less. AP gets all the credit for that, right?

You're completely ignoring the fact that because Minny has AP their able to control the tempo of the game because they can run the ball with AP so well thus keeping their D off the field and fresh.

AP is and should be named the leagues MVP.

I'm not forgetting that fact. Burhead was giving AP all the credit. I say he gets a lot of credit. I may be wrong, but Burhead can't be right.

MVP: i think Manning and AD should split both the MVP and come back of the year...i mean it's really 1A and 1B for both awards, and has been since probably about week 10. They should both be recognized for their outstanding years and for the very different, and very large, obstacles they had to over come.

OROTY: Luck. 1st pick in the draft last April and they go to the playoffs, not to mention he's broken a record...RGIII has great media hype, but i think Morris deserves it more than him.

DROTY: Dunno too much about it, but Bruce Irvin in Seattle is a strong candidate to be considered

When did the NFL / AP start giving out this award this late in the season? It used to be given out at the end of the season/ right before wild card weekend...now they wait all the way until February?

I'm almost positive that Kurt Warner was announced as MVP in the off week between the NFC Championship and the Super Bowl against the Titans...I think it's been that way for a while

I could have also sworn though that McNair and Peyton Manning were announced by the associated press as co-MVPs by around the wild card weekend though (or right before the divisional round).

Delaying it that so long though just seems like it really gives the playoffs some unfair weight in what's supposed to be a regular season award

edit: yep, Jan 3, day of the wildcard games for the 2003-2004 season

A Tebow led Broncos team went further into the playoffs than Manning's led Broncos. He's a great qb, but not the MVP.

The Broncos were eliminated in the same round with Tebow as with Manning. Tebow and the Broncos won in the Wildcard Round against the Steelers, and then got destroyed by New England in the Divisional Round. The Manning led Broncos were edged out in double overtime by the Ravens in the Divisional Round. Know the facts.

Yea, I'm forgetting the bye week. Still, a Tebow led Broncos team won more playoff games and made it as far as the Manning led Broncos.

He's a great qb, but not this year's MVP.

I'm not sure if you realize this, but it's a regular season award. The fact that the Broncos gave up 35 in regulation at home shouldn't factor into the MVP conversation.
