My Journey to Alaska and back....again (and other Army/YankeeVol life adventures)

I would recommend sticking it out, your over half way to a great retirement, and you've been successful at it, given that you made E7

Soldiers are only allowed 4 tattoos below the elbows or knees now. Current Soldiers are grandfathered in with what they've got though. Every Soldier with visible tattoos had to be documented, so I had to take a picture of each visible tattoo, photoshop it into black and white at 300 dpi as a .tif image and tag their name, location of tattoo and last four into the picture. Then EVERY soldier had to have a memo drawn up stating whether or not they had tattoos. If they had tats, they had to be documented on the memo. This way Soldiers can't just get new tattoos while they are on PCS leave and pretend like they've always had 'em.

would love to hear the rationale how 4 is acceptable but 5 isnt

I don't know. I just follow orders passed by Gen Odierno and the Honorable John McHugh.

Sounds like the good idea fairy is bothering the top brass again.

I wouldn't have gotten in today

I wish the rangers would go back to Black berets, and I don't think the Cav tab, should be above the SF, or Ranger tabs

The Cav beret was actually legit before the Rangers, This is 11th ACR in 69 or 70 in RVN

That said berets are stupid.

I'm not going to know what to do in July when I don't have a beret to put on every day.

I don't think my new station would like me spending all day painting. But I might get to rock a light blue beret.
