My Journey to Alaska and back....again (and other Army/YankeeVol life adventures)

So I'll be living in the housing area on the TN side (the only one). I'll have a Kentucky mailing address though (which helps with ordering stuff tax wise).

If you have a Kentucky address, you'll automatically be considered my cousin.

Sounding like my cousin got gigged on swamp phase for the 2nd time. Arky or yank got any input on what that means for an infantry Louie?

Hell likely be able to restart. My last PL spent nearly 6 months there.

While it's not good to show up without a tab (won't get first dibs on a Platoon), there's another chance after the Career Course.

he can go back, as long as his CO and BC support him for another slot....Tell him to work his ass off when he gets to his unit, and reapply

Random question Yank, but what boots do you wear? I've been wearing the minimalist Bellevilles and will likely keep a pair in the rotation, but I want to get another pair as well.

Just want to point out that I apparently wasted my 25,000th post on this

Vets will be able to buy from AAFES online by November, hope to load up on the green cans of shaving cream.

Haven't looked, of course, but I wonder if they're competitive with the Amazon's of the world.

....seems like fun.

The United States and the Russian Federation have long fought for supremacy in the Arctic Circle, with much of the news cycle favoring Moscow as the leader of the region so far.

I have written extensively about Russia’s efforts to gain an advantage in the region for geographic and economic purposes. The Russians are militarizing the region and creating sub-zero super highways with its 40-plus ice breakers.

In comparison, the U.S. only has one and there is no telling when new ones will actually be laid down for construction. As far as on-the-ground tactical warfare, the Russian military is even training with reindeer and dogsleds, as Foxtrot Alpha reported last year.

But the United States is not giving the Arctic up to the Russians without a fight. Under ICEX 2016 exercises, the U.S. went through five weeks of training to assess how well it could perform in the freezing conditions. Two submarines, the USS Hartford and USS Hampton, conducted trips under the ice and broke through patches of it during exercises.

Congress has not shown much attention to the Arctic Circle over the years, but video of paratroopers practicing how to descend on to this chilly patch of earth shows that the Army isn’t waiting on Washington to care.
Watching 128 American Paratroopers Descend Into The Arctic Is Kind Of Amazing
