Despite popular belief, there are at least a few constants in this world remaining.
The Army doing stupid stuff is one of them.
Currently wrapping up ALC and I learned that despite having six items graded, only one actually counts towards being Distinguished Honor Grad. Besides the fact it wasn't listed as such in any e-mails or handouts about the course prior, it was listed you must have a 95 or higher average to earn the title.
Instead, they choose to take the one and only exam we took and use that as the sole factor of determining who is eligible. 3 people made a 97.5, I made a 95. Those three will then be broken down by the other graded parts of the course. Never mind the fact that was I better in 4 of those 5 other graded pieces. I wouldn't be so upset if I wasn't in a noncom MOS that is seriously battling for points and I could use those 40 promotion points.
