Just watched the game again on DVR and I want to give some thoughts. I've had a few, so forgive me.

Arkansas State is a physical, mini-SEC team. We got some real work in today that will pay off when we head to Athens in a couple weeks. They also had much better team speed than USU.

The injuries to EW and VP are unfortunate. However, injuries are sometimes a good way to build depth on the roster. Not just for this season, but looking down the road one or two years from now as well. Smith, Malone, and Helm need to step up the next few weeks.

Justin Worley is playing the best ball of his life right now. If he continues the way he's playing now we will give OU all they can handle next week.

If it wasn't obvious before today, it certainly is now - Jalen Hurd is RB1. Lane may start, but he's the backup. Weird.

North is a grown ass man.

Not sure why everyone is in such an uproar over the offensive line. They gave up two sacks which looked to be coverage sacks and the run blocking improved from game one. The pressure they got on 14 looked to be halo pressure that he simply just stepped through. They'll continue to improve.

AJ and Cam are consensus AA's at the moment.

Enjoyed watching Bates get some PT.

Can't help but think we pulled in the reins on offense mid 2nd half.

Short week with OU coming up against a pretty damn good, physical football team could have been a recipe for disaster but we survived it.

Now let's go get OU!

I think Hurd gets his first start against OK. You are right; he is clearly the #1 back for the coaches.

I really hope Bajakian has some wrinkles in the run game starting with OK. I fear handing the ball off five yards behind the LoS every single time is going to see the ypg average drop precipitously from here on out. I don't think the non-read option plays to Jalen's strengths as a runner.

He likes to run that weird little counter with Hurd.

Anybody know what that play is? Almost looks like a broken play at first with the naked eye.

That's not saying much. I'm sure the South Central Louisiana State University Mud Dogs would best Vandy.

I was pretty much just making fun of Vandy. But in all seriousness Arky State is better than a lot of our fans will give them credit for. (And they would beat Vandy)

I'm not saying they're bad(nor ever did). They just aren't SEC material. And again, saying somebody would beat Vandy means almost nothing.

Arky State is not a "mini-SEC" team. Not even close.

They are more of a SEC caliber team than Vandy. Three year running SBC champs. They also played Auburn and Missouri better than us last year. Just because teams aren't in the P5 doesn't mean they aren't good football teams. We had a good win over a good team, regardless of conference affiliation.

That is a fact.

Where did I ever day it wasn't a good win?

Sun Belt champs! Wow.

The Sun Belt is not an impressive conference. At all.

You're reading way too much into it.

It was good work against a good, pretty fast, physical team - that will help us down the road.

That's all.

Same could be said for the bunch of y'all.

It was a good win against a DECENT opponent.
