I will say that OU's defensive line is going to create problems this young group of linemen have never even dreamed of before.
Hope they're ready. Worley better strap it up tight this week.

He's definitely gonna have to get rid of the ball quickly next week

We need to run the ball effectively or it could be a long day.

I expect no less than 378976373 WR and TE screens next week.

I'm very nervous about our trying the zone read runs on that front 7. Could be ugly.

I would like to see Worley under center a good bit for the run game and mix in a little play action pass. Then again, will the line hold up? We shall see.

I think we will see more traditional sets for the run game next week as well.

The challenge there is we will also have to throw from under center as well to keep them honest.

When's the last time Worley had to take a 5 step drop?

I honestly couldn't tell you.

I realize winning the game is most likely a long shot. But, I wanna see a knock down drag out fight from our young Vols this week.
As long as they compete for 60 mins I'm happy.
Die with you boots on by god.

I don't think we'll be blown out by anyone this year.

Special teams could do us in against OU though. It was ugly out there today.

Yeah, lane discipline will be very important. OU has some flat out burners.

CBJ kept remarking in his post game presser that he needed more people to step up on teams.

I will say we played the best of the "easy" teams this week in the SEC

Same could be said for the bunch of y'all.

It was a good win against a DECENT opponent.

Yank, I agree with you the majority of the time. I've got to say, though, that I feel like you're kind of brushing off the quality of this win. I'm not sure if it's because they are a G5 team instead of a P5 team, but I feel like you're discounting the ability of ASU.

Don't get me wrong, I was expecting a three+ touchdown blowout before the game.

I just don't want people to think that since we didn't score 50-70 points on ASU, like other SEC teams did with their opponents, that we lost the momentum from game one.

Out of the tons of "cupcake" games that SEC teams have played in the first two weeks, I feel like we played better teams overall. ASU won their conference. USU played in their conference CG.

I also believe that our playbook, especially during the later parts of the 3rd and 4th quarter this game, was left fairly unopened.

That's all I wanted to say. Just give our win the respect that it earned. We did not play Florida Atlantic, Lamar or Sam Houston.

Just keep it in perspective...

Any team that can score 7 points can do that.

I never thought I would say these words, but I kinda feel just the teeniest, tiniest sorry for Vanderbilt after their past two games...

Just like the old days. :dance2:

You obviously missed a lot of my posts.

Arky State is not a "mini-SEC" team. Not even close.

Probably? Arky State would win by 28+ playing half assed. They could also beat several SEC teams. They could of beaten us, Tucky, Arkansas, MSU, Mizzou, and even possibly gave fits to the higher up teams

I think Hurd gets his first start against OK. You are right; he is clearly the #1 back for the coaches.

I really hope Bajakian has some wrinkles in the run game starting with OK. I fear handing the ball off five yards behind the LoS every single time is going to see the ypg average drop precipitously from here on out. I don't think the non-read option plays to Jalen's strengths as a runner.

i think you are right, they aren't giving Lane much of a chance to run the ball

as to why,i have no idea, the read option seems to be slow on giving a running back a head of steam to hit the O line with

as we all well know in the SEC your most likely not going to win, with out a great running game

so what is going to happen? is Hurd going to develop into a great running back before next weekend? doubtful, will Lane be given some decent amount of carries next weekend ?

beats me

i would like to hear what CBJ has to say about it and not all that coach speak

CBJ said in the post game presser that people are reading way too much into Hurd getting more carries than Lane. He said they just go by the feel of that game, who they feel is running the ball better at the time.
