My MAIN concern....and what I don't understand

Heath Shular would have killed in this offense.

Right now UT just has too much inexperience. You saw Pig Blossom a little. You saw Croom show a little spark. They will improve. But they are getting nothing from the TE. Justin King is being wasted on D.
They just played arguably the best offense and best defense on back to back weeks.

They got here late in the recruiting process. They got Dobbs because they needed QB depth and he was easy to steal. Quit acting like that means he's the QB of the future. It means he's a good player. We don't know who the future is.

Weren't you the one just berating somebody about being a quarterback whisperer? How could you possibly know or prove the claim you just made, which is that Dobbs, a 4-star QB recruit with offers from some excellent football programs, was just taken as a roster body?

Sit down, man. You're looking dumb here. Maybe I'm not correct, but there's no way you have any idea what you're talking about.

Dwayne Douglas Johnson even knows that.

I don't think so if Ferguson is the guy or is any good he would have gotten his shot Saturday. He made the trip.

I believe Dobbs will be the Guy Next year because one he is benefiting from red shirting. He will get stronger and have time to dedicate to studying the play book and practice

Second he is saving a year of eligibility for a reason CBJ knew this wouldn't be a great season he is preserving his eligibility. He want Dobbs to play with Hurd and the rest of the 2014 class

Dobbs has Dual threat ability third reason while Ferguson is mobile he's not a threat to run and that is what makes this type of offense work. (ie TAMU, Oregon, Clemson)

Also don't forget that Dobbs is an engineering student while it's only his freshman year UT has a very rigorous Freshman engineering academy called ENGAGE. Butch probably is having him work academics right now and adjusting to that.

Engineering student here. Can confirm that the first semester is ridiculous. Most people either fail or change majors. For example, by the end of my first engineering class, 50% had either failed or dropped the course. And remember, most of the people in that class were 4.0 students in high school. You don't get into the engineering program at UT without top grades. Also, ENGAGE is just a collection of floors in a specific dorm. Only freshmen engineering majors can live there.

As far as Dobbs goes....
I've heard from several people that he has better speed than the other qbs, but he's not a true dual threat 4.5 guy. I think the Dobbs has the highest ceiling of the qbs, but it's hard to tell how everyone will develop.

Why would Ferguson have played against Florida? Peterman got a shot and fell apart. Worley was put in and played a heck of a lot better than he had been playing. No reason to throw a true freshmen into the swamp at that point. If he gets a shot, IMO it will be against S.Alabama

I agree, I'm watching games of supposedly lower-tier programs and find myself saying, "I wish we had Marshall's QB or I wish we had NC's QB...
I know I'm not there in practice - but it seems like there are 25 dual threat qb's at mid-major, smaller schools who "seem" to have more talent than what we are seeing on the field. Granted Gators and Duck's D's would make most look horrid - but we've also had games against bad teams and they didn't really pass they eye test there either. Surely - and no I'm not calling you Shirley, there is a big time read option QB out there who would love to start next year.

I'm not saying it's not Ferguson or Dobbs - but if they are IT, then shouldn't one of them be in there pretty soon?
