My Player of the Game….

Yes. Mashack had one of the best defensive performances I've seen in quite some time. He ate them alive and allowed practically nothing for the nearly 30 minutes he played. He won't make Sportscenter, but I guarantee the coaches know very well what he did today.
He just kept stealing Sears’ lunch. It was artistic defense. Masterful.

Thank you Mr. Gainey. Shout out to Freddie; that three was almost like a trick shot playing a game of horse. I don't understand why Barnes didn't get Freddie in the game more in the second half. You're up 20+, he needs the reps, and ZZ needs some rest; just didn't understand.

You’re seeing something way different from me if you think Dillione’s play to date is deserving of more minutes. A couple garbage time buckets doesn’t move the needle IMO. FD hasn’t been trustworthy with the ball as a point guard and has been very lacking on defense. We’re all hoping for development such that he’s an impact player next season

I'm not saying he's not the greatest player, but Barnes in known for wearing his teams down into the ground, and when they get to the tournament, they flame out. Not to mention, in the world of the transfer portal, you need to keep your talented players content.

Mine is Mashack. His defense was on point.
Mine too. Love seeing Gainey hit shots and hope it continues. But the best basketball player on the court was Mashack. He was an absolute menace on defense, while making some timely plays on offense (offensive rebound and putback, hit an open 3, beautiful assist, etc.).

Aidoo would be my 2nd choice.

This is such a bs statement

This was just a great team win, the best of the season so far. Gainey, Aidoo, Vescovi, and ZZ were all terrific, JJJ played great defense and crashed the boards, and Knecht showed what a complete player he is, still getting 25 and playing great defense even though he was clearly not sharp offensively.

This group has a good chance at being the best team Barnes has had here, and they're getting better every game. The Vols have always been unselfish and played suffocating defense, but there's an explosiveness with this bunch that I can't recall seeing in any other CRB team here.
Kinect probably had his best defensive game as a VOL. This team can be very special .

I like when we can pick 1 of 4-5 players for player of the game.

Agree with this and I've noticed that Knetch and all the players seem to be playing with a lot better chemistry on offense than earlier in the year.

Gainey! He’s been invisible for a month and shows up huge today with 15-5-1 and some pesky defense. We’ve all been fearing he was playing his way out of the lineup. We all also knew we needed him to be a contributor for this team to reach its potential. Here’s to hoping he’s rediscovered his confidence and stroke!
We need him. Him being hot or cold in the NCAAT could be the difference in an elite 8 or a round of 32 exit.

I love this team, we finally have enough shooters that when someone is "off" we have others that can take up the slack.
We have enough players as subs, who can come in and we don’t lose anything. Sometimes we’re better with the subs. Also, we have several “glue guys”—Santi, Josiah, Aidoo, ZZ, Knecht, Mashack(les). This is important come tournament time. Last year, ZZ got hurt and we were done.

Admiral, Grant, Bone, Bowden, and others could really score. Would love to see a comparison of the two teams

Coach K , Dean Smith, Knight, and many others rarely play more than 7 guys historically. I do agree with you tho but not sure if analytics would agree with us

Was at the game and my POTG was Mashack. Best defensive performance all year. So many plays made that the stat lines will never show. When he came on they couldn't drive or find an open shot. Lock Down! Fun as hell to watch toos
I Isolated on him several times and just watched him play defense. It really is amazing to watch how he literally smothers his man giving no option where to go with the ball. Casual observers never noticed this but his defense is almost perfection and so fun to observe!
