I am leaning towards voting for him after the Clinton speech last night. I just don't understand all the hate. Why would Clinton like him so much if he was a bad president.

1)?
2)?
3)?
4)?
5)?

You can't be serious. Would you expect Clinton to come out and bad mouth him?

1) Ideologue not interested in compromise - see Bob Woodward's new book for further confirmation.

2) Has done virtually everything that he criticized W for (lobbyist, signing statements, executive orders, massive deficits, rendition, Gitmo, drones, etc.)

3) Has no working economic plan and instead focused all attention on HC reform.

4) Policies have not improved the condition of the country.

5) No serious effort or even stated policy on a) energy, b) trade, c) immigration and d) biggest of all - entitlement reform.

6) Poor leadership - blames everyone and everything except himself. Historically low effort to work with Congress (even his own party).

7) Doubled-down on W's expansion of executive power with czars and agency growth that enacts policy without Congressional oversight or approval.

I agree with 2, 4, 5, and 7. The thing is, though, Romney is not going to be any better. Washington is broken. There are several things that need to be done to fix it.

1. He's democrat.
2. He's socialist.
3. His wife is ugly. (James Franklin cannot vote for him)
4. He's popular with the most ignorant, worthless class of people, Hollywood.
5. Billy Costigan likes him.

At least Romney has concrete proposals for 5 - they may not be perfect but they've put out something for debate and modification.

I don't see how Romney could do worse on 7 and I'm pretty sure he would be better 4.

He has a history of 1 much better than Obama.

1) much tougher on marijuana than Bush, after promising not to enforce federal law
2) proven on multiple occasions that he doesn't care for civil liberties
3) proven he is willing to spend us into oblivion
4) Fast & Furious
5) we are still in Afghanistan, and his foreign policy is much too strong

Honarable Mention: usually I'm not one who cares much for rhetoric, but his has generally been destructive as he pushes us into class warfare

part of that "leadership" thing IMO. His rhetoric was decidedly anti-capitalism and anti-business. It certainly sets a tone.

Billy probably tells people on the internet he likes Obama just to try and be cool. But I bet he really is a republican and has a Thad Cochran bumper sticker

Gramps what the heck is he talking about when he said that about building this thread. I know you will be level-headed and honest with me.

Obama gave a speach a couple of months ago talking about people are helped to do things and used different types of help as examples

He made the statement that "If you own a business you didn't build that by yourself". Then something like. "If you own the business someone build the road in front of it" or something stupid like that.

He said that the wrong way but from the content of the speech he was referring to the fact that everyone needs help along the way..... or that is how I took it.

The GOP grabbed the " If you own a business , you did not build it " and have been using it against Obama.

Thus Fall Guy post:
You didn't build this thread Billy. Somebody else made that happen.

I assume he was making fun of Obama.
He was implying that you didn't start this thread, somebody else made it happen.

Thnk about it....He said it as a way to make Obama look bad but it proves Obamas point.
The facts are if Freak had not started VN and allow us to use the forum, you could not have started the thread. Thus Mr.freak was your help to start this thread..

You do know I am going to get flamed for this post, don't you Billy.

#2 and #7 are so critical to me. I voted for the guy -I bought into the "change" idea. He won't get my vote again. Not sure I'll vote for Romney, but Obama no more.
