Name Worley the starter now

Worley is the senior and he was clearly the best QB last year. No one is challenging him enough for the position this year through Spring and now Fall Camp. He should be named starter, end of.

If you have two freshman (Ainge / Schaffer, Manning / Stewart) then you almost have to settle it on the field. We don't have that situation. The Ainge v Clausen confusion ruined the 2005 season (with perhaps our best defense ever).

Love Butch, but the QB indecision cost us a game against Florida last year, and it's happening again. Not sure why. We'll need the #1 and the #2 this season and everyone but Worley is coming back next year.

Name Worley and bring on some football!

I guess you were there for all spring, offseason, and fall practices/workouts. With this logic lets just make all seniors starters. Seems legit...

We lost to UF last year because our defense was atrocious. I wouldn't put that loss on Peterman/Butch

Only thing Peter,an did wrong was not tell the staff how bad his injury was. I understand it might have been his only shot but after the first mistake he should have let it out. With that being said I would have no problem with Peterman being the starter if he is the best we have.

A) he doesn't want Worley to feel comfortable.
b) it wasn't Phils fault both qbs wpuld suck then be on fire. completely different here.
c) you don't think its a smart move you are simply going crazy wanting to know who the starter is.

Our D got some turnovers and put our O in position to score some early points and the O failed miserably.

True, but UF had their highest point total of the season against us. Even Georgia Southern held them to fewer points. I know some of it we handed to them, but man we were bad last year D.

I do wonder if Ferg leaving is affecting how this "battle" is being handled. Different coaches handle QB's different and Butch doesn't seem to mind mixing them up be it Preseason, game 3 whatever. I think that can bite a team but I don't know if it is in this instance. Having 3 QB'S on the leadership council indicates he may he doing a lot of hedging.

Maybe because all the QB's are consistently inaccurate in practice right now? The reports posted daily are that Worley is throwing a lot of passes short (like last year) and Dobbs is overthrowing some balls. I want someone to take the position, but it's not THAT much difference between the 2.

Give me a break! If Worley was so much better than the other two, he would already have the starting position. There seems to be a lot of lobbying from a lot of sources to name him the starter. Personally, I trust Jones and Bajakian to be able to handle this decision without the consultants coming in from the outside. JMO.:hi:

Worley was clearly better? Dobbs has a better arm and is more mobile. Ferguson's departure means that Dobbs is going to have to be the guy in 2015, why not get him all the reps now?

This thread has about every reason why I love pre-season football in it.

Some of y'all are the Dr. Phils of football. We're blessed to have some many cognizants.

No. He doesn't.

Who doesn't? Which one? Have they ever been so far as to be like?

I love it.

I kinda like the idea our opening opponent does not know who the starter is yet and must spend time on 2 or 3 QB's studying film, etc. just saying.....:hi:

Worley doesn't give is the best chance to win. We are probably a 5-7 win team with either of them, might as well invest in 2015 and go with Dobbs.

Sometimes I really do wonder why you guys are sitting here bull@*&@ing on a forum when you could be making hundreds of thousands or millions of dollars a year.

Seriously, you guys have this football thing figured out.

Said this in another thread and got roasted. Totally agree.

What continuity? Before the Peterman start at UF lot of dissatisfaction with the QB play. I mean a lot. I am talking dumpster fire levels. Loads of second guessing threads (sound familiar?) and media questions about Worley at the time. How quickly we forget.

Nothing I have seen of Dobbs says he is our future. I'm not bashing the guy but I don't get the passion for him to start. He was one of the least effective true freshman starters I can recall.

Also, here's a barrel of laughs I'm sure you Dr. Phils were saying in 2009:

"Don't start Jon Crompton. He's horrible. He's a 5* bust. Start Nick Stephens. He's the future and we're at best a 5-7 team or worse under Crompton."

And you wobble-heads still probably kept saying that until we were 7-5 and going to the Peach Bowl.

That's because true freshmen starters in the SEC usually do not exist.
