NASCAR bans the confederate flag

There's not but in today's business climate it would be stupid to take a pro confederate flag stand.

That's why it likely won't be a battle either side wants to take on. For me, it's not a pro Confederate flag battle. It's a freedom of expression stand. That's a principle this country was founded on and I don't like seeing it trampled. Today it's the Confederate flag, tomorrow it's MAGA hats.

I don't think we've seen the worst yet.

I don't either. That's why this needs to be nipped in the bud right now. I hope NASCAR pays a heavy price for this. I hope there are ugly scenes of them confiscating flags

NASCAR isn't going to confiscate flags, they will just make sure the network doesn't show the stands or campgrounds.

I had a Battle Flag on the wall. My CO took it down at every inspection and laid it on my bunk. I finally stuck a magazine article to it that Said the Supreme Court ruled it historical memorabilia and couldn't be messed with. He never took it down again. This was 1972

I don't think that's going to work. This day and age, it'll show up somewhere, on Twitter or wherever

Funny but any true Southern NASCAR fan can tell NASCAR left the Southrrn fan long ago. Once some of the younger France family took over all they saw in the mid-90's was $$$, NASCAR was at an all time high and they wanted to milk it for all its worth and began leaving Southern tracks like North Wilkesboro and Rockingham for Indianapolis, Fontana and eventually Chicago. If I'm not mistaken back then there was even talk of them leaving Darlington & Martinsville.

Southerners don't care if you think it's BS. It's their culture and they have a right to it. Telling them they can't fly a flag is unAmerican
And everyone of those Southerners would come running to the defense of the United States. If I'm not mistaken a year ago I think it was I saw a statistic that said that there are more Southerners in the United States Military than any other part of the country.

I guess that explains why the Military now has a problem with the flag. Yet you can find still pictures or even film footage from WWII to Afghanistan of American soldiers flying the Confederate flag as they go into battle.

If you are in the military, you have allegiance to only one flag.

Plenty of people park on private property and fly whatever flag they want so I’m assuming this will only affect the RV people on the infield. What if they plaster flag magnets on their RVs or or have flag bumper stickers or window decals? It’s a slippery slope to tell people what they can and can’t put on their vehicles on private property or not. Is Walmart or any other business gonna have a guy patrol the parking lot looking for bumper sticker offenders? Will they treat the guy with a black panther sticker the same as the person with a confederate flag sticker?
I said the same thing in an earlier post. What about folks with state issued Sons of Confederate Veterans license plates on their motorhomes etc...

They did take a race from Darlington and was planning on taking the other away. NASCARs decline is self induced they didn't "dance with the ones that brought them".

Look at Law Enforcement anything to do with Police or law enforcement is being canceled or removed from shelves.

We can't let children play with those racist toy police cars!

I disagree. All a libertarian wants is for the government not to be involved...and that's not in question here. Furthermore NASCAR for the most part does not own these racetracks...so your analogy also doesn't apply. Libertarians don't support banning symbols of free speech because somebody is offended
NASCAR owns all but two of the tracks they hold events at.
