Yes I'm having a bit of fun but it still is true. There is a blatant double standard when it comes to who can say what about another race.

ESPN and the public destroyed Fuzzy Zoeller when he joked about Tiger Woods getting to select the food at the Masters. I don't remember who it was but not too long after an NBA player made a statement about someone should be embarrassed because they got dunked on by a white guy. Stuart Scott had a good laugh about it and shared in the stereotyping.

It's a facebook video, but the link goes to it. He doesn't say you can't play corner because you're tall. Or because you're slow. He says it's because he's white. Even though this segment is all in fun, how can that be something ok to say on tv? What would the reaction be if someone "well the problem is you're black."

True story. 20 something years ago I worked at a place that made new employees go through a diversity class. But it wasn't the boring corporate driven class. The first thing they hand you was a book listing the stereotypical names not to use about other races/sexes/age groups. I actually learned a couple news ones. They put the men and women in separate groups and had each list 10 things about the other. But the funniest was after that they had everyone call out stereotypes they'd heard about other races so they could explain why they were wrong to say.

Needless to say it was the funnest class I've ever been apart of and never knew that I smell like bologna because of my race.

White people are the most powerful race in the US. Nobody wants to hear us cry about how unfair American life is. You somehow think that our group's cries for fairness (or whatever) should get as much attention as those who have less power, but that's not the way the world works and it's for good reason.
