Yes, that's exactly what those of us on here who follow NASCAR are saying.

NASCAR is not as popular now as it was 20 years ago this after trying to expand their base they have been losing their Southern base at a dramatic clip. Which explains why next season they have announced a Cup race at the Nashville Speedway in Lebanon and are talks to get a race back at the Fairgrounds they are also in talks to have a Cup race at Road America in Georgia. They know they are in trouble and are trying to get the Southern base back another example is moving the Awards Banquet to Nashville from Las Vegas where it's been the last 15 years or so.

A crappy product and alienating a loyal portion of the fan base is NOT a successful business model for recovery. I lost interest years ago in a bunch of carbon-copy choir boys racing on cookie cutter tracks In cloned cars.
