That is happened. Only a dummy and or racist would say otherwise. We have a million different reputable sources reporting the same thing.
That is how this works. Something happened then people reported it. Everything doesn't have to have video or dna.
It is pandering when you drop dates at historic tracks that's been around since the 50's and 60's to try and get into non traditional Stock Car markets.
The Phoenix track has been a part of NASCAR since the mid to late 80's.
Expanding to larger markets is not "pandering", and even if it were, you're arguing that NASCAR didn't grow from this?
I live in Phoenix and the one NASCAR event I went to was packed. Doesn't seem like they're having problems expanding here.
Im not sure "pandering" is the proper term. Nascar wanted to expand itself from just being a southern sport with a bunch of oil faced hillbillies fighting after a wreck. Which is the reason why it got popular in and outside of its region to begin with. They felt like they needed to soften the characters (drivers) and expand the participation from mainly drivers from the southeast. It lasted for a while, but once the "names" started to step aside or in Earnhart's case die on the track they filled those positions with family friendly, clean cut guys that are great drivers but don't bring the same appeal. Nascar has since tried to manufacture the old ways with various gimmicks after slipping into a place where its not even as popular in the south as it used to be.
Ive got a tire off Ricky Rudd's car from a Phoenix race.
I think you've forgotten what the point is. The context is that we're talking about NASCAR trying to appease people that will never watch NASCAR. Are you saying that expanding to these markets was an effort to appease people that were never going to watch NASCAR? Seems ridiculous. I'm pretty sure the strategy was to grow their business, it seems like a no-brainer plan, and I would bet that their business grew.
Yes, that's exactly what those of us on here who follow NASCAR are saying.I think you've forgotten what the point is. Nascar needs more unique tracks. Talladega, Daytona, Martinsville and Bristol are my favorite races of the year because the tracks are different. I could watch superspeedway and short track racing year roundYes, that's exactly what those of us on here who follow NASCAR are saying.
NASCAR is not as popular now as it was 20 years ago this after trying to expand their base they have been losing their Southern base at a dramatic clip. Which explains why next season they have announced a Cup race at the Nashville Speedway in Lebanon and are talks to get a race back at the Fairgrounds they are also in talks to have a Cup race at Road America in Georgia. They know they are in trouble and are trying to get the Southern base back another example is moving the Awards Banquet to Nashville from Las Vegas where it's been the last 15 years or so.

Something I have noticed in last 10 to 15 years is when I listened to interviews with the drivers, they all seemed to have those Northern accents.

Nothing really. Its the perfect troll. It pisses off anyone who sees it for like fifty different reasons. Its the perfect representation of the current climate. You take some old footage out of context apply it to the newly created racial divide that BLM has created from nothing and it drives both sides further apart. Its genius. The guy in the picture even has a Trump hat on. Its everything thats wrong with everything all in one tweet. Its hilarious. Why the JFK grassy knoll conspiracy theories from supposed non racist? Why are some of you so intent on finding evidence of a hoax? Why does someone saying something racist happened offend you if you are not racist?
Hmm
What does him being subjected to racism have to do with with a dustup between drivers? We had a guy straight run a dude over and kill him and they don't even bring that up anymore.
