Nascar Loves Gordon

instead of everyone bashing the 24 car and saying he gets favorable treatment (which is stupid in itself), how about giving the crew chief and that team some credit for the strategy. he played the circumstances perfectly, gambled, and won. any other driver who does this everyone is praising, but since it's Gordon, it's called favorable treatment. I understand jealousy, but give me a break.

however, I do agree that this race should have never been started today.

i think it's time for people to realize that the 24 is the the best team this year and Hendrick is the best organization and get on with their conspiracy BS.

This coming from someone who said that IRL drivers were better than Nascar.

I don't know about a conspiracy, but Hendricks does get some preferential treatment IMO. You know, if a race is rain delayed why not race the rest of it the next day??? Its REAL FUNNY how it was raining in that one turn for like 5-6 laps before the Caution and the Red flag dropped just after halfway in the race. Honestly though, NASCAR is NOTHING like it was 20 years ago. Its not a sport anymore, its more of a corporation. Its disappointing to think that its not about the driving anymore, its about sponsors and paychecks. Thank you NEXTEL for helping to kill the sport and make it into something it shouldn't be.

Well, Jeff comes on the radio and nascar immediately throws the caution for rain. Unbelievable, it had been sprinkling the same for the past 2 laps but as soon as he jumps on the radio and says he's done they throw a caution. Thanks Nascar for starting a race that you know you wouldn't finish, this is a disgrace to the sport. Mike Helton and Brian France are a disgrace to every competitive sport in the world. They should immediately be fired. This is the maddest I've ever been watching a race and to make it worse I have to keep listening to this blabbermouth Bill Weber who doesn't know what he's talking about.

Get used to it guys. Gordo will win the championship this year, and if it takes Nascars help then they will be more than obliged to give him help.

I dont even watch much of the races anymore.

I'm starting to agree. The actual product is worse than is was years ago, but the hype is so blown up that people aren't seeing through the bells and whistles and looking at the core.

They're giving Gordon a championship?? What's the basis for that stupid judgement? He's only had 2 finishes outside the top 10, one of those a 12th and a DNF at Charlotte. It's called consistency. How is NASCAR giving him a championship with the Chase hasn't even started yet? That's the dumbest statement I've heard in a long time.

thanks kep, i knew YOU would understand!! look Gordon is a great driver, we'll all admit that....and yes he is very consistent, but why call it when a guy who is hundreds of points ahead of everyone is leading? give the other guys a chance and make the race to the chase a little more interesting....their ratings will plummet if Gordon is 500 points ahead of everyone with a few races before the chase starts :rtfm:

How do you criticize NASCAR for giving races to Gordon and then argue that NASCAR should have manipulated when they called the race based on who was out in front at the time?
