The mexican population has been demanding such "change" for the last 100 years. The problem is, when they are about to get results, the powerful arm of Whashington intervenes in favor of the puppet regime, squashing any chance the populace may have had.
Check some history books if you don't believe me.
And yes, the US should control their borders much better. But why that does not happen? because the goverment ( both right and left ) wants it that way, think about it.

I agree completely. The left objects because they see their presence here as an opportunity to garner more votes. They both like the cheap labor they provide. Having a country with a common border rely so heavily on the US for the lifeblood of their economy appeals to the right because they know they have an ally dependent on us heavily.
