I know a guy that runs one of the fireworks stands here in town. Said it was the worst year he’s ever had.
Lots of people noticedI was in Vegas last night and have never seen it more crowded. Sunday night at midnight at Bellagio every table was occupied, black jack, etc. Every slot machine going. And the hallways crowded like it was Friday at 8 pm. Just crazy. You'd never know there was a recession going on.
Thanks to Joe Biden, right, LG?I was in Vegas last night and have never seen it more crowded. Sunday night at midnight at Bellagio every table was occupied, black jack, etc. Every slot machine going. Aren't casinos typically crowded Sun pm before a national holiday on Monday?I was in Vegas last night and have never seen it more crowded. I am confused by the frustration here. The release was never meant to just be free oil handed to Americans. It was selling the oil on the market to increase supplies. It's dumb. Has little impact on price. But it's going to be sold on the open marketThe things going on right now are so idiotic there’s no chance they’re not being done on purpose. These bastards are trying to destroy America
So why not sell it at home since it is from the strategic reserve? It’s ridiculous as is the DOJ suing Arizona over their law requiring proof of citizenship in order to vote in federal elections.I am confused by the frustration here. It's global commodity market. You could sell it home and it wouldn't matter. You are just shifting costs. What we pay for oil wouldn't change. It's barley a dent in our consumption. By releasing the oil you are simply increasing the total amount available on the world market. If you limited it to US only, then the other millions not given from the reserve would still pay market value. It's a non argument. The whole goal is to increase supply to lowers costs. Doesn't matter who buys it.So why not sell it at home since it is from the strategic reserve? Why release our “ strategic reserves” into the world market when the Saudis , Venezuela, Russia , Iran or the Norwegian oil fields being shut down could off set that with a flick of a switch ? I mean I see the worth of the political headlines , but in reality…
You said it yourself, it was for political headlines.
But hill is correct when oil is sold it’s sold on the world market so the outrage over that is silly.
How do markets work? It's global commodity market. You could sell it home and it wouldn't matter. You are just shifting costs. What we pay for oil wouldn't change. PARIS—The French govern-ment said it plans to nation-alize utility company EDF SA, saying the step is necessary to manage the transition away from fossil fuels at a time of energy crisis in Europe.
Good luck France. It was already 84% controlled by the state. Sure this will improve things.
France to Nationalize Energy Giant EDF to Help It Combat Europe’s Energy Crisis
