I just got an email from a major supplier announcing a “natural gas surcharge” on product from one of their plants in Germany, adding about 10% to the price of silica gel.

Almost seems like you should write them back and ask why you should pay a surcharge for German national stupidity - most people understand that putting all your eggs in one basket is a bad practice but apparently the Germans didn't think that one through.

I don't think many will draw a meaningful distinction between the "big" difference you've illustrated.

Leases wouldn't be generally sought if they weren't believed to be viable, with exceptions of course. It's the oil company that does the research and applies for the permitting to drill.

The truth is it's not really always in the best interest for oil companies to drill. I get that the president is an easy target to scape goat when things aren't going your way, but context matters. The oil companies could be producing more but aren't for various reasons but it's ALWAYS a 'follow the money scenario.' They don't GAS that American's or anyone else are getting crushed at the pumps.

It amazes me that people still believe that the POTUS sets the pricing on a global commodity market.

That’s only 25% of the leases that are not used and it still doesn’t excuse his unwillingness to sell leases in 27% of the country that’s federally owned.

But the obvious question is why would it not be profitiable for them to increase production? Could it be relayed to an administration that has done everything they can to be hostile towards fossil fuels?

When the president says things like “I would be open to banning fracking if I had enough votes”, would that encourage you to buy more rigs and train more employees?

Given the same admin has been hostile towards banks for funding fossil fuels, where would you get the money for these rigs and hiring new employees?

Said it before, he has been dealt a bad hand. I don't think things wouldn't be much different if Trump had won the election, especially inflation wise. If anything the Ukraine would be even more vulnerable under Trump, we all know how he feels about Putin and Zelenskyy.

I wore the mask without any problems for 2 years, and some of yall complain about not being able to breathe if you have to wear it in the grocery store. LOL. And guess what, never got covid, wife didn't either.
