Sen Tim Kaine weighed in today against reducing or eliminating the Federal gas tax - his rationale was that it does nothing to lower gas prices, presumably just reduces out of pocket costs without reducing gas prices. Okay I buy that. He went on to endorse an "excess profits tax" on petro companies where the tax collection would be (at least partially?) distributed to consumers. Ummm, that also does nothing to reduce gas prices and simply compensates some out of pocket costs. It is however a new tax so I can see why he thinks that's different.

I saw where the village idiot opened up national reserves in an attempt to reduce gas prices. This is like applying a small band-aid when 100 stitches are needed. The solution is to bring back pipe lines, drilling and anything that would stimulate petrochemical production. Any pricing reductions will be short lived and then we'll be right back where we started or worse.

This is truly a completely incompetent administration.

We have plenty of oil, we are selling it to other countries because the oil companies want to get rich. Thats whats driving up prices. You guys bitch and moan and cry about Biden not going anything about gas prices then when he does you bitch and cry some more. The price is what it is. Pay it or don't drive or get an EV. So tired of the complaining about gas prices. My God. Gas in American is still dirt cheap when compared to a lot of other countries, you guys sound like spoiled brats.

The only reason for the complaints is that all of this is preventable. It hurts poor people the most. You blame the oil companies but clearly prices have been rising since doofus took office. I'm not convinced that it's simply American companies focusing on exports. When you inhibit domestic production with regulations, naturally, prices are going to rise. Basic economics.

The reserves does absolutely nothing for prices. This increase in gas prices hits the lower/middle classes the hardest which is interesting given the party claims of being their saving grace

I have actually never made any statement about the pipeline in such a capacity. The only ones being duped however are those that think they are helping green up the place by killing things like that and mandating coal powered cars.

And Biden's fecklessness is the reason Putin invaded. You are a naive chump if you believe otherwise

A lot of it is the oil companies fault. They control the spicket. They have available land leases and wells they are not pumping. They want the higher prices.
