Breakeven prices for oil coming out of existing wells is current sitting at about $30/barrel for US producers (in the $50s for new wells). They can currently sell it for $110. Demand is super strong. It isn't a matter of Big Oil "helping" any particular politician(s). They are bringing all to market that they can for their own self-interest.And let’s be 100% clear and honest here -
COULD Big Oil be doing more to “help” the Democrats here? Yes.
WILL Big Oil do a damn thing to “help” the Democrats here? No chance in Hell.
Of course they are. Building a war chest.Breakeven prices for oil coming out of existing wells is current sitting at about $30/barrel for US producers (in the $50s for new wells). They could help the Democrats by simply coming out and making empty promises. They aren’t.Maybe I'm misunderstanding what your point was. You said that Big Oil could be doing more to help Dems, but they are not. It sounded like you were implying that Big Oil could produce more to bring prices down to help Dems, but are not.
They’re mad because we have willfully chosen to govern our own production.
Prices at the pump have hit record highs across the entire planet. Why do we think we're special and should be immune from a global phenomenon?
And what do the leaders and their followers choose to believe, in these other parts of the world?
If you can’t have a government that operates in a manner to make decisions to improve the living conditions of their country, might as well submit to that one world government now.
What specifically would improve this situation? We could rape and pillage God's creation for all the resources possible in order to flood the market with more resources, but they'd make little headway as other producers would cut production to keep prices artificially high. And the rest of the world would still be willing to pay more than our pampered asses.
Or we could pass laws that require US-refined fuel to stay in the US. Then we'd watch production companies take off to other places so they can make more money.
