National Average Price of Gasoline Hits an All-Time High

Can someone summarize for me what can be done by the administration to get us some relief? I do not ask this for political purposes and ask that answers be specific and fact based because I would genuinely like to know what can be done.

Nothing at this point. It’s too late to do prevention and we’re all along for the ride. Because the petroleum industry doesn’t trust the Democrats enough to invest in more development or production right now and won’t until there is a more favorable policy environment post 2024 when your asses are ran back out of the WH

A nice start would be to stop threatening producers.

Maybe ask for their help?
Put down the pitchforks for a sec?

Here is the current Oil rig production count. No matter how stupid Biden is, he can't keep oil companies from turning existing rigs back on. We're currently running at about 40% less capacity than we were pre-pandemic.

Pretty shrewd by the oil companies to keep these turned off and blame Biden for permits that would take years to get up and running.

Any admin should:
1. Give petroleum industry confidence to expand.
2. Invest in more refineries.
3. Invest in more pipelines.
4. Invest in Nuclear power.
5. At minimum match dollar for dollar subsidies for "green power" with making NG usage easier and more feasible.
6. Give Mcdad an unlimited free gas card for life.

Lower taxes , stop giving away billions of our tax money to other countries , stabilize our economy and our country first , give companies ( investors ) a sense that there is a solid plan , deregulation -get the hell out of the way and let Capitalism / The market , do what it’s designed to do . Pick any three and things will start to get better overnight , pick the right “ONE” and you’ll go from a zero POTUS to a hero POTUS.

Send everyone in America with a car a 2 year supply of lube because we are all about to get f’d hard. What you see now isn’t even the beginning. Prices across the board are going to skyrocket. Food, clothes, drugs, construction. Everyone one of these require shipment and that means gas.

I think we are about to see the middle class get wiped out.

The depression will look like good times compared to what is coming.

Let's imagine Biden had done things differently:

1) Continued push for LNG export terminals to supply Europe and holds firm on Nordstream 2 block - maybe changes Putin's calculus on Ukraine as Europe has less dependency on him?
2) Leaves Keystone XL alone - possibly in operation now and represents a stable supply chain for Canadian oil
3) Doesn't put fracking limitations in place - less risk exploration and production of NG
4) Doesn't hold up permitting and new lease sales - less risk exploration and production of oil
5) Doesn't talk constantly about ending fossil fuels - less risk long term investment

Just a short list of how from Day 1 Biden has actively reduced access to and increased the risk of fossil fuel production and transportation. It is likely one of the most consistent policy positions this administration has taken - end fossil fuels. The big picture is that investments with 10 - 20 time horizons are bad strategy in an environment where the government is actively trying to end your industry.

Funny how Biden promised to end fossil fuel use during the campaign. Nobody noticed or called him out on any plan. And why the media are nothing but ideological shills.
Remember never let a crisis go to waste.
