National Championship Game Thread TCU VS UGA

Well, the importing thing is, the best team won. It doesn't matter who the other 3 teams are as long as they're good. If you have a playoff, once in a while the "wrong" team will win, but that did not happen this time. In fact, it hasn't happened yet at all with the 4 team playoff. this year was as close as it's come to a real screwup.

I'm aware of the score. Try answering the question.
The Kansas State loss should have been enough to disqualified the paper frogs from the playoffs.

Half of the SEC could have defeated TCU by multiple scores. Outside the SEC conference, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Penn State and maybe even Clemson would have beaten TCU this year.

I think the argument is not all records are equal. It’s a tough argument and I don’t know how you make it, but obviously there were better 2-loss teams that were more battle tested.

If I’m being honest at the time I thought the committee got it right, but obviously something is wrong with the system.

The problem is that the SEC is running laps around the other conferences.

It's obvious on its face, isn't it? Consider that the Big 10 became the third conference to put 2 teams into the playoff. Both times that the SEC did it, the NCG was SEC vs SEC. When the ACC and Big 10 did it, neither team made the NCG, and the SEC rep won the title.

Brutal beat down. Georgia has something we want....Neyland this year we take it.
Not unless our defense gets a lot better. If SC can put 63 pts on us, I don't want to think about what Georgia could have put on us if we played them tonight.

It’s the old age question of is it the 4 best or the 4 most deserving? If it’s the latter, which it appears to have always been based on semi-final blowouts being the norm from the beginning, then this is what we get. If it’s the former, then the CFP committee needs to man up and admit that all conference’s aren’t the same and be willing to piss other conferences off my by leaving 2-3 of them out if that’s what it takes to get the 4 best.

The top 4 SEC teams just won their 5 bowl games against other P5 champs or runner-ups (Clemson, OSU, TCU, K-State, Purdue) by an avg. margin of 31.5 points. That should tell the committee and CFB world in general all they need to know.

So you always want the favorite to win? Isn’t that very boring? Lmao

BOT would like to congratulate 247 and On3 for winning the national championship.

This is your retort? Lol. Yeah stars don’t matter. The recruiting services are always wrong blah, blah, blah. Like I said this game is yet another example of the teams with the most highly rated players win the most. If you got anything to refute this, by all means offer it up.

So tell me, you think Smart would win like he does with TCUs roster?

Lol I said nothing of the kind but you live to have this argument with people so go off. I could have told you at 7:25 pm that TCU didn’t have the horses if Georgia played well. It’s just funny to me that you see this as an opportunity to beat the “do stars matter” dead horse.

Btw (and this will set you off but then you can do an eyeroll emoji and condescend to me like you do everyone else) “the recruiting services are always wrong” and “the recruiting services are always right” are both foolish statements, one not more so than the other. Which is why noone says or thinks either of those things but thank you for continuing to build strawmen.

Not true. The first one in 2014 was won by 4-seed Ohio State.

The next time one of your dumb friends says a small school should be in the playoffs, because they went undefeated in their cupcake conference, pull out your phone and show them the final score of this game and then use your phone to smack them in the back of the head.
They did beat Michigan… the argument would have been better made had they lost to mich big.. they won a playoff… it’s kind of dumb to say they didn’t deserve it… like saying beating a At the time undefeated bama doesn’t mean anything

Let’s be real a team don’t get beat that bad unless they just flat out quit. TCU just wasn’t ready for that kind of stage apparently.
