WVU played a zone. They didn't guard against the 3. They guarded against the guards slashing and Cousins dominating down low. UK couldn't make them pay for it(which is the scouting report on UK). WVU will not play a zone against Duke.

They shot 44% from three and their opponent shot like 12%...neither of those things is going to happen on Saturday

Duke has been underwhelming their last 2 or 3 games. WVU is definitely grittier than Duke, and Scheyer will be manhandled as well as Singler as they are soft little boys.

How many of Mazulla's and Ebanks points were 3 pointers? 10-23 from 3 point land is good, but it's not hard to do, especially when no one is guarding you. Duke doesn't have the inside defenders that UK has so points won't be so hard to come by as much against Duke.

You disagree that they play hard...have you actually watched them since like January?

What does that change about the fact that the ACC was weak and they had the easiest path to the Final Four as any team in the tournament? I never said they didn't play hard. You need to reread.

You said Duke hasn't played anyone who plays as hard as WVU...someone said that WVU hasn't played anyone who plays as hard as Duke either...you said "I disagree, the ACC was weak, etc." You directly disagreed regarding how hard they played, and then used the unusually weak ACC (which has pretty much nothing to do with playing hard) as evidence...I didn't read anything wrong...

I never said that WVU won't have more success inside or that Duke wouldn't lose. The latter depends on the former, which could very well happen. But while 10-23 may not be hard, it's hard against the top 3-point percentage defense in the nation (27.5% or something like that) and it's hard to make Duke shoot 12% from 3 as a team. So neither of those things will happen Saturday. That's all I was saying.

Now watch WVU go like 55% from 3, just because I said that...

The hostility on these message boards cracks me up. It's a freakin message board and people puffing their chests up at any chance they get is hilarious.

Who's being hostile? You just disagreed with someone who said Duke plays hard, and then acted like you didn't disagree...

How on earth are you not impressed with WVU? They play as good of defense as anyone in the tournament. Explain your thinking here. If they don't get lazy at the end they blow out UK who was playing better than anyone in the tournament field.

Double digit loss. :hi:

Duke Sux. The selection committee handed them the title on selection Sunday.

Tinfoil Hat???

Ha...Playin. I actually agree. People can argue all they want, the committee basically laid out the red carpet for Duke.

I've never hated a team more. (except for Bammer ball, Gator Ball, Notre Dame Ball, Pattie-Belichek ball, Yankee Ball, etc. )

If you ain't got haters you aint got crap.

Did Duke have the easiest road going into the tourney? On the surface, yes. As the tourney played out however Dukes road wasn't any easier than anyone elses. Duke was the best team in the field this year. (hindsight 20/20)

Kentucky and Kansas were better, IMO. Duke just had a favorable hand.

I don't know how you can say Duke had a favorable hand compared to either Kansas or Kentucky. Duke trounced WVU by double digits, the same team that knocked off UK. Kansas got beat by Northern Iowa. Kansas, of all teams, has absolutely no excuse.

Kansas just got caught with a haymaker from a team they weren't expecting to have "hurtin' bombs". Kentucky, yes, got beat by West Virginia. I still think that Kentucky beats Duke by 5-10 points.

Well, there is no way to argue a hypothetical. I'm just saying I think all of the "Duke had the easiest road" talk is garbage.

I hate Duke as much as the next guy, but they earned/deserved to win that title last night.

Duke beating West Virginia is equivalent to the West Virginia beating Kentucky game.
West VA had one of those special night shooting the 3 ball against Kentucky. Those types of games are hard to have back to back. Duke had a similar night when they played West VA.

To say Duke wasn't handed a favorable hand is ignorance at its finest however.

Thats the thing, Duke shoots alot of 3's with a high percentage. They did it all season long. If Kentucky couldn't stop WVU's 3's, how would they have done against Duke who is a better 3 pt shooting team?
