Agree. Historic performance or success has nothing to with 2012's performance. In 2012, UT was a featherweight.

People tend to cling to history when the present sucks.

The only team with a better SEC record, tradition & history than TN is Ala. we are ahead of GA AU LSU & light yrs ahead of FL.

We can attempt to explain it and our legacy but the facts remain that we sucked the last few years and we have rebuilding to do
We have faith and hope in this new coaching staff but what say we wait to see it on the field?

Hey everyone! Just got some new info in. We sucked the last few years.

I have seen people argue about every possible aspect of UT football, except one, in these threads. The fact that we have sucked the last few years.

We'll argue before the season about how good we will be...during the season about how well we think we can still finish....whether we like the coaches...AD....or the recruiting prospects. I really can't remember anyone saying, after the season was over the last few years, that we didn't suck. Pretty every TN fan around the world understands that part of it.

Yet there are a TON of threads that throw out meaningless statistics that try to make it seem different than reality
We have post that call people out over and over and tell them we don't deserve the negative references and in fact if you speak poorly about the team ...you aren't a true fan
We have post whee we slam the true talent on the team presently and in the past

Very few call it like it is
We have hope for the future and we live the glory days of the past but the truth still hurts

Of course that is going to happen. This is VN.

Believe it or not, it also happens to be one of the reasons fans of other teams come on our site. The easy layout and flexability of the site (Thanks Freak) is prob the main reason, but the craziness that goes on on here is second and fighting hard for first place.
