Awesome. Are you checking in frequently on those, or is there a place that notifies you of updates?
I saw that they were supposed to release their rankings today so I went and checked it after they finished their 5 star countdown.

Rivals was supposed to revise their offensive player rankings today. They released an article that said that they have updated them. But when you go look, some of our players moved yesterday in their updated top 250, but in their revised rankings, none of our players moved at all. Not up or down. It's like they didn't change anything in the revised rankings. Makes no sense.

I don't know if 247 is going to update anything outside of their top 247 though, because none of our players outside of that group have changed at all. They still have Justin Williams as a 3 star lol

I don't think this is completely accurate either. Jackson state is ranked #20, but their average rating (92.83) really ranks 3rd nationally. Their score of 88.607 is adjusted for number of players, and that brings them down to 20th.

They calculate the average for the highest x number of players (with x changing throughout the season depending on how many recruits have committed) with an adjustment for less than that number of players. Need to dig into the math a bit more, but it seems to be a pretty good balance of quantity/quality.
Welp they're no longer 20th. Went there and they were down to 38th...then they updated again 5 mins ago and now I don't even see em lol.

247 has them 111th. They do only have 2 bluechips and the other 4 are low 3s (2) or unrated (2). So 4 rated players total. I could see top 100, but 20th must have been a glitch surely. One would hope.

Actually, that *is* the argument. They only have 6. You can't build a team with 6 signees. There needs to be a more complete picture of a class than "Hey, we got 6 dudes." If the other 14 are 0 star, unrated guys, that should drag the average down. If there's only 6, well, that's not really a number of players that is going to move your program forward. 20-25 is typically considered full class I believe, with some exceptions for programs with fewer openings, but in general there should be a minimum number of players (which some services use the top 20 recruits of each team's class) to gauge the overall level of talent of a recruiting class.
Agreed.

Though I'll add they do have ELEVEN transfers, 7 of those out of the P5. That's 65% of their class.

Not including transfers nowadays is borderline criminal. Just won't cut it from here on out. Transfers are too important.

247 eventually will, probably not in the far future. Think they (and everyone) wants the big dogs reranked before nsd. The other couple thousand have to wait. And iirc they'll just trickle in here and there.

JWill should definitely be higher. Wonder if Nichols and Tyree drop? Seems to be a trend elsewhere.

I think they’re already right in the middle for Nichols/Tyree. You’re right though, both have been moving down a bit.

well, due to covid, covid covid covid...

Guy is 157 Rivals, 171 247, top 50 on3 and yet 217 on composite. When is 247 going to drop including ESPN rankings and sub in On3? It makes their composite a sham.

Check out this thread if you haven't yet...

Revised Recruiting Rankings (No-ESPN)

Vols410 did an excellent analysis of exactly what you're saying...dropped ESPN's BS rankings out of the composite to see where our recruits would land...

IMO his "sans-ESPN" composite is pretty spot on as far as individual recruit score is concerned...there's not a player score on there that I strongly disagree with

Why are they dropping West and Nichols?
