‘23 NC DL Daevin Hobbs (Tennessee commit)

UNC's head coach is also almost old enough to be these kids' great grandfather. Do you think he's going to be connecting with kids like Heupel and our coaching staff?

I’m convinced UNC is pulling off an elaborate Weekend at Bernie’s show the last few years just to sell some tickets and generate some hype.

Closing out with this guy, Carter, Lang, Scott, Keith/Dowdell, Davis/Hunter, and flipping Mauigoa/Ramil/Simmons and Whitson getting elgible would be huge

We can only take so players. I’d think we take 3-4 more max if no one leaves. I know AP has said Stallings might not be in the class so maybe 4-5 but it’s been clear this staff doesn’t just take commits unless they think they can play. Plus we need to keep some spots open for portal transfers.

If we keep winning, we could see a mass exodus of players enter the NFL draft. I think we would have to win the SEC championship at the very least for that too happen though.

31 Seniors on the roster (Not all scholarship), not sure how many will take the covid year, if any.

Hyatt and Thomas are the only 2 juniors who would have a shot at getting drafted right now and Thomas is a stretch for now. Bru could be lumped in there but I really think he would benefit from coming back and being the #1 guy next year in this offense and probably sees that himself.

So not sure where the mass exodus would come from?

People didn't see it early with the 2019 LSU team either. It's the nature of the beast. If we make the CFP, there will be guys whose stock will get inflated. Spraggins and Baron are two examples to add to Hyatt, Thomas, and McCoy. They had about 6 guys enter the draft that should have definitely come back.

At what point does Saban's age become tangible recruiting fodder? (i.e. He likely won't be there during your Alabama tenure)

I think it's legitimate. He's either going to quit soon or he's going to hold on too long. Neither outcome is good for Alabama. At this point I hope he stays because the decline is only going to accelerate, especially as the pressure from better competition increases. If you're a top player considering UT or Bama, why would you go to Alabama over UT right now? UT is the future, Bama is the past. The end of game sequence was so poorly coached from Bama's standpoint that it is one of the worst coaching sequences I've ever seen.

Imagine being so stupid or arrogant that you pass the ball at the end of the game and leave enough time and timeouts to give the opponent a chance to start their own game winning drive when it would have been extremely easy to just run and give your team the only shot to win in regulation. Nick Saban is that stupid and he isn't going to get smarter as he ages. I hope he stays another ten years and UT beats his ass.
