'25 NC DL Isaiah Campbell

I think Simmons is having much better this year, compare to his prior years. He is getting more playing time and doesn't seem to be taking plays off when he is in the game. I am not sure he will be drafted, but he may be make it as a free agent. It depends on his willingness to put in the work.
He’s finally healthy. He’s been hampered every year in the past with ankle, lower leg injuries. Hes a load to move in there so often he blows things up to help others make the play.

With 40 being destroyed for at least a year, Knoxville becomes a little “farther away” for the NC recruits. Wonder if he’ll fly in for his visit.
I had wondered the same thing.

And more broadly and generally - how will the fallout affect our overall recruiting of Carolina in the short term 12-18 months.

* I admittedly feel a little slimy worrying about recruiting, but this is the RF.

Yeah, I know what you mean. I almost said the same things. Both in regard to your overall recruiting comment as well as feeling a little inappropriate. But I definitely had the thought and like you said, this is the recruiting forum.

The good thing on the recruiting front is, by the time the 26 kids are in school, the interstate should be repaired. And it will only affect the 25 kids for a short time.

With him being in Durham, you were looking at over a 5-hour drive prior to Helene. So, I'm thinking they would have been flying for an OV anyway. However, that is just my opinion....

And Google maps shows that it's now 5hr 8min going I-40 to I-74 to Wytheville to I-81.
That is about the correct time. I used to drive to Greensboro N C a lot and that is the best route to take, even if I40 is open. The drive is Not nearly as tiring as going I 40 with all the trucks and curves. I also take that route to Charlotte because of the ease of driving. It’s a little longer, but I. Am not nearly as fatigued as I am going I 40.

Tennessee is continuing to work to get several potential flip targets to campus over the next couple of weeks. The devastating fallout from the flooding in the Carolinas and upper East Tennessee will make it more difficult for players like Isaiah Campbell, David Sanders and others to get to campus. The most likely path will put them up interstate 74 to Wytheville, Va. and then down to Knoxville from there.
Campbell will be in town for the Alabama game. Tennessee is primed in this recruitment, but will still need to show well and sell him on leaving the state of North Carolina.
