I respect your opinions Dog, but Majors went through assistants like my grandson goes through diapers, often and tends to shat on them. I don’t know who CPF considered his “mentors” but I’d bet CJM wouldn’t appear as a mentor on anyone’s list. He absolutely wouldn’t have offered any advice when CPF was new to the head coaching jobMaybe, it's Dickey. But just because Majors hates him now, doesn't mean Fulmer didn't learn a lot from Majors as an assistant

That first sentence is funny and true. Look how quick Majors got rid of Donohue after everybody was calling him a genius after The '85 Sugar Vols. One slip and he was gone, but Johnny did show some loyalty to some of his assistants. I do think Johnny may have spent more time helping Phil, mainly because he a homegrown TN boy, that played here. That's why Majors is still hating on Fulmer, because he took him under his wing and the back stabbing hurts even more. Just my opinion. But, like I said in my first sentence, Phil did play for Dickey and Dickey did hire him to replace Johnny, so maybe Doug is Phil's real mentor.I respect your opinions Dog, but Majors went through assistants like my grandson goes through diapers, often and tends to shat on them. As in any job,the things you learn are seldom by direct word of mouth. Learning is usually done by emulation or negative emulation of mistakes.I respect your opinions Dog, but Majors went through assistants like my grandson goes through diapers, often and tends to shat on them. I think Phil put up with Johnny's personality better than most because he saw a future in doing thatThat first sentence is funny and true.
