So when Pruitt touches down in Memphis or rural Carolina, you don't think Phil has already made those inroads a whole lot sweeter upon meet and greet?
Maybe...sure...idk.
Just not going to give the man Pruitt's credit. I agree with you, he's most definitely a great mentor for Pruitt, and a well of advice and guidance; but no more so than Saban was.
You don't think Pruitt recruited kids from Memphis and rural Carolina when he was at Bama? You don't think that most every HS coach in the south doesn't know who Jeremy Pruitt is? Before he came to Knoxville, the man was an integral part of 3 of the most prestigious programs in the south.
Look, I'm not saying that Phil isn't a humongous help, and a great mentor; just, as I said, not going to give him Pruitt's credit. Make no mistake, what has happened this week is ALL because of Jeremy Pruitt. Whenever kids talk about Jay Graham, that's Jeremy Pruitt. Whenever kids talk about Tee Martin, that's Jeremy Pruitt. Whenever kids talk about Derrick Ansley, that's Jeremy Pruitt. He is the guy that hired those guys, not Fulmer. If he didn't want them on his staff, they wouldn't be...even if Fulmer wanted them. You don't think Pruitt saw the advantages of having Tee and Jay on HIS staff, not just coaching and recruiting, but as alum and legends here?
Also, if YOU'RE paying attention, anytime a kid talks about UT, a commit or prospect, no matter who or what they're talking about, they always come back to Pruitt, and what he means to them. Everytime.
Phil hired Pruitt to restore our program, and I love him for it; and, it is in Pruitt's vision, and no one else's, that it is being built.
