I think he’s one of those guys who might have gotten a number of offers this spring and summer. He’s still developing, too, but he’s the type of guy a lot of schools probably would’ve seen in person and offered this spring if there had been a spring evaluation period.

Pruitt has also worked under some very successful coaches as well. Having Fulmer as a boss helps big time. Saban and Jimbo even though there are buttholes, they are very successful buttholes. So they have to think pretty highly of you as a coach if they want you on there staff. Pruitt is going to get this job done. He has worked for great coaches and has a great boss who was a great coach.

I’ve been catching up on this Pruitt/Fulmer discussion and I have to add this:
If you think about it Pruitt is a lot like Fulmer as he stepped in and I think Fulmer hired him because he saw a lot of himself in Pruitt. They both spent ~10 years as assistants/coordinator. Pruitt cut his teeth being a position coach at linebacker/DB coach (Fulmer at OL), then he became a well respected D coordinator under great coaches in Richt and Saban (Fulmer OC under Majors), and finally Pruitt got a HC at a major university with people questioning his credentials to lead a massive D1 program. Only difference is Fulmer was a legacy coming in to coach but people were still unsure of his qualification. Like Fulmer he's learning on the fly as a HC with a great mentor and improving from one year to the next. Players are showing marked improvement and recruiting is starting to jump off the page. Pruitt deserves credit for what’s going on in the locker room, but Fulmer is facilitating this by supporting/mentoring Pruitt and getting the boosters on board. Our administration is exponentially more stable since Fulmer cleared out the river rats of years’ past.

He really does..I talked to JM last year and he brought up Fulmer stabbing him in the back with no prompting whatsoever.
