'25 NC OT David Sanders (Tennessee commit)

I thought this kid was different , I know I'm old but not a fan of the NIL era. I know it's here to stay and I realize the kids should be compensated but this wild west **** isn't good as far as I'm concerned. If he wants to go elsewhere, so be it , not a fan of playing these games. Realize this way of thinking isn't going to be popular here but don't care, this is something I see being more prevalent in the future and I wouldn't like it even if we had twice the money to spend as everyone else. Hope what is being said here is incorrect but if it isn't then we will survive without him. The more of this that goes on the more I see coaches hopping every chance they get to the NFL to get away from recruiting and this type of problem. I know if I were a coach in college I would be looking for a way to the pros ASAP, can't imagine they are enjoying this after all the work put in to get the commitment. I am coming around to the Clemson method, if you commit no more trips for other schools to try to worm their way in with whatever poison pill they can try to insert into the deal. Done ranting,

Is it because they want it guaranteed?

No offense to anyone, or any family trying to better themselves. White and Huep...fitna be all...View attachment 700321
This isnt the NFL. HS Athletes dont get guarantees.
I’d say it’s about some of the details beyond the amount of money.

The fact that we’re in this position though is a product of not having a close enough relationship with certain people in my opinion.

I still think it works itself out but it’s obviously concerning.

Gonna ask a totally different question because it has been bothering me.

Did Omar’s family not just make it yesterday? Don’t wanna like ask this the wrong way, but does he have family? We couldn’t have had the DL coach or Heupel stand with him. His choice?

If you don’t know, totally cool.

Tough family situation.

His choice to standalone.

It’s not about money.

His family is secure financially.
He may be 4-5 year guy for whatever college he goes to.

This is about Glen Ellerbe not being able to form a bond

Whenever I read "It's not about money." ..... it's always about money.
That’s the thought process of people that aren’t financially stable.

I could be wrong about this, but King has alluded many times now about GE ability to not make a real connection.

And this is important because this is the dude that will be instructing him for 4 years.
So if he’s not getting developed properly, then that will hurt is money later and he would be filled with regrets for playing for Ellerbe.

If you don’t really like someone then money doesn’t change that fact…at all!

I must have missed the part where he was forced at gunpoint to commit. Kid took multiple visits to Clemson and apparently didn’t form a bond with Matt Luke who is probably the most likable person in football. How many visits did he take here on his own dime? 4 this year alone? This isn’t about Elerbee—-his other flaws notwithstanding.

If this is the case, why would we be keeping GE on the payroll? The OL has been inconsistent at best with little improvement over the course of the season. This commitment was his coup de grace. If he fumbles this, Heup has to let him go, IMO.

Recruiting has to get better. It just has too, along the line. I think it can, and it will.

Probably because reasonable people don’t go around firing the OL coach over an 18 year old kid when you’re leading the ****ing conference in rushing!!!!

This isn't the first 18 year old kid. Same thing happened with Seaton last year. The scheme might have something to do with the rushing numbers. Our multi-million dollar investment got pressured yesterday by UTEP, man.

No worries though guys, im sure that if he flips we will get some OT that doesn’t even have a picture on any of the recruiting services who’s next best offer is Akron, who wont even see action with the 2’s until his rs jr year, and the sunshine pumpers will think all is right in the world with Elarbee
…or we go get a transfer who will be a solid starter for a year or two?
