'25 NC OT David Sanders (Tennessee commit)

If this is the case, why would we be keeping GE on the payroll? The OL has been inconsistent at best with little improvement over the course of the season. This commitment was his coup de grace. If he fumbles this, Heup has to let him go, IMO.
Yet we lead the SEC in rushing, 3rd total offense, 2nd in scoring…. If we just didn’t have a ****** Oline coach

This isn't the first 18 year old kid. Same thing happened with Seaton last year. The scheme might have something to do with the rushing numbers. Our multi-million dollar investment got pressured yesterday by UTEP, man.

The scheme has us one victory from the playoffs. We’re striving to run the ball/ we’re effectively running the ball. I don’t know what else to tell you.

I’m pissed at the possibility of losing an elite recruit and taking it out on you. 🤷‍♂️
Which was the entire point of my question. If the scenario laid out by LittleVol is right, that is bad juju, IMO. I understand that we are in a great position right now and we have great QBs in the pipeline, but protecting those QBs is the difference between fighting for a playoff spot and winning the whole thing. I question GE for his recruiting. I stopped questioning him with this commitment. Now this crap triggers all the BVS.

Ohhh that’s so cute that you think just because you say something hot on the webs that makes it true. Show your work and prove that’s true.
Show your work and prove that it isn’t. Nothing “hot” about it. Our running success is a product of our scheme.

But let me guess, it’s just a coincidence our pass protection has been bad all year and that none of his high school recruits have contributed in 4 years. He’s irreplaceable and no other mediocre coach could replicate our success in the running game.

I don’t have to show my work. I’m not the one

I don’t have to show my work. I’m not the one who put forth the theory.

I stopped reading after you said ‘LittleVol is right’

There’s a lot more to o-line play than the stats you mentioned which are indirectly related. (this isn’t directed at your post but in general bc there’s a lot of discussion ITT) Could you define our rush and pass schemes, specifically blocking? Pre-snap, do you know who is blitzing and whose assignment they are? There’s knowledgeable people inside and outside of the program that haven’t been impressed with our line play. Same goes the other way

Relationships are reciprocal, to give until trust is mutual is common and okay. Like Sanders, wish him well... BUT we should be past this point IMO based on interactions to date and expression of being bought in.

When drama reaches a certain level, IMO best to cut bait and move on. Could see someone (like Saban) with enough clout pulling scholarship offer while wishing the best and pursuing other options. Won't be popular here, but if appropriate (admittedly not knowing full context) good with it.

And BUCK the F*CKEYES! Has any team done less with a comparable roster? Who comes close? On paper they are the only peers to BAMA and UGA for the past decade. Where are the championships to match? They suck for what they've recruited.

Good grief, y'all. I'm positive 99 percent of the time on this board. If you can't handle a simple question or opinion, I don't know what to tell you.
You didn’t offer an opinion or a question you simply made a statement that made no sense based on statistics and the overall success of the scheme, just leave it at we could do better at Tennessee with a fresh OL coach or an assistant like chop when the offseason hits..

Agreed. While I do think three o line has been better in the run game, we do expect a lot from them with many off the run sets.. Pulling tackles, guards, even the center.. So I think there's credit to dole out to the o line. But, we also do a lot with te's lined up on the line, in the back field etc to scheme up the run game as well.

And then there's Sampson who does get a lot of yards after contact.

What I think one should take away from all that is the offensive staff does a pretty good job with run game overall.

Pass protection.. Needs improvement. But even saying that, there's been issues with some of the play calling, situationally, that really doesn't help when pass pro isn't there, the QB has been erratic in the pocket at times... And running backs have missed blitz pick ups. Lastly, at their own admission, the staff has been presented with looks they've not seen on tape by multiple teams, which is at least an indicator that we're maybe not self scouting like we should?

Bottom line... There's a lot more to it than 'ellarbee sucks'. And that's not saying he doesn't lol...I just don't think it is as simple as that.

At the end of the day this run game produces at a very high level, even when we've been pretty one dimensional over the last 2 seasons. There's plenty of improvement needed, but it isn't all bad either...

The opinion was that fumbling multiple major OL recruits in consecutive years is a bad look. The question was can we continue to recruit OL this way.

Stats: We lost Seaton, we lost Utu, Sanders is wavering.
