'25 NC OT David Sanders (Tennessee commit)

Reasons why Ohio State sucks:

Ohio State's record vs SEC Teams: 4-14-1 The Four Wins 2014 Alabama 1988 LSU 1935 Kentucky 1933 Vanderbilt. That's one win this century and 2 wins in the last 89 years. lol
Ohio State is now 1-13 against the SEC in bowl games

Football Bowl Subdivision Teams Ohio State Has Played And Never Beaten
  • Clemson (0-4) ...
  • Florida State (0-3) ...
  • Florida (0-2) ...
  • South Carolina (0-2) ...
  • Auburn (0-1-1) ...
  • Air Force (0-1) ...
  • Georgia (0-1) ...
  • Tennessee (0-1)

- Are pretentious without have reason to be. The only ones amused by saying "The" Ohio State University are OSU fans. Are there a lot of Ohio State Universities that you have to make that distinction.
- Plays in a slow, unathletic conference, and brags about how good their defense looks. The top offense in the league, Oregon, is 20th in YPG. Penn State is 21st. Then you have offensive juggernauts like Purdue, Northwestern, Michigan, Iowa, and UCLA all ranked over 100th.

Don’t forget that Ohio State gave the world Gordon Gee (post Vandy) and Jim Jordan (whose biggest claim to fame is he ignored that a team doctor fondled his wrestlers at OSU so it wouldn’t hurt his coaching career).

All I need to know about this program and recruiting is simply to fire up tape on all the guys that transferred here. Listen to what they say about the program and about our staff. All the guys that fought through injury that handled their business on the contract side and on the field. I don't have to look far to see what happened to guys that left either. Guys like Mincey. Guys like Seaton. If you don't want to be here ok, but be prepared to face the guys that did when we see you in the big games. If we see you in the big games. This team and this program runs it right. Elarbee may not be a top shelf recruiter, but the on field stuff speaks for itself. For those that want to argue I'd point right back to Banks when people didn't love his results. We put up more yards on the ground against UGA than anyone. At their house.

I'd like to have my cake and eat it too. So I hope we land Sanders, but any guy out here playing with us at the last minute may not be sold on what we offer anyway. I like what we offer though a lot more than most.

Tbf, Ohio State also beat Kentucky in 1919 and 1895 (pre-SEC). And they beat Mizzou a bunch before Mizzou joined the SEC (10-2-1 overall; 0-1 since 2012).

Thise facts are fun because they don't make OSU look any better 🤣

I will say if Sanders goes to the OSU/Michigan game then that’s a really bad sign. But I am curious. So if we lose a recruit now, we automatically want to fire that recruits position coach right? So if Darrion Smith flips, it will be dire Garner right?

No just Ellerbee.

Either AP is out of loop here. Or Wiltedong is getting his info from OSU mods.

Ive been in business 45+ yrs negotiating contacts far greater than the amount we are talking here. At some point theres a spot were it’s “game over, we’re done”. We were told when he committed that was the case.

Let’s say his NILis $1mi, I have no clue, but 10% is $100,000. You gonna risk your reputation for $100,000 when you have $1 mil already? Sprye can’t play that game cause that $100k could end up costing them far more when every other player decides to do the same.
If I’m an 18 year old who’s never seen that amount of money in my life? Absolutely. Today’s generation doesn’t give a damn about reputation, they care about the money. And as a fan who hates that but also knows he’s never going to stop watching the sport, well then I say “that’s just part of the new order of things.”

Not for every player. It's always a few that take things to an extreme level. I have no issues if this is legit negotiation, but its not fun living through it.

What sewer pipe floated your turd face here? Are we speaking of competing against the same suckeyes that are are like 2-10 against the SEC and couldn't beat Harbaugh?

I hope we draw your stupid asses in the playoff and wreck your oline for proof of concept.
my goodness that might be the best slap down post I ever read…😂😂

Why do people from one fanbase troll other fanbase’s forums? Seems like one would have a little too much time on their hands if they’re doing that.
Well I can only speak for VN. But have you seen many of these other teams message boards? They are Pee Wee league compared to the spectacular job @Freak has done here. I think other fans are jealous of how great this place is.

Agreed. But in this particular case, if what’s being reported is true, I can’t drag the guy through the coals when I get that an 18 year old is looking at potentially more dollar signs elsewhere and is trying to play the game with us. It sucks and I hope he ultimately stays, but I’m not going to attack his character like some are when we’re seeing this happen all over college football.

I’ll be honest, it took everyone by surprise up here when he committed to Tennessee. We were hearing equally re-assuring things as Vol Nation was. He was extremely close with the staff, loved the culture, loved the city, etc. I wouldn’t surprise me at all if he ends up being a Buckeye. There’s few programs in the country who can compete with The Ohio State University. Indiana and Tennessee are two that cannot.

SEC teams Ohio State has a winning record over:
Kentucky 1-0 (3-0 overall)
Vandy 1-0 (3-1 ovr)
Arkansas 1-0

That's it, that's the list.
That's not all the list. If you're going to put Arkansas in there, you have to put Mizzou in the there. Original SEC, 2-0 against Vandy & Kentucky. OSU is like 10-1 against Mizzou. There wins over Mizzou helps there overall record against past/present SEC immensely.

They're overall record against old-guard SEC is like 4-14, 15, something like that; but, they're overall record against the current SEC teams is like 20-15, somewhere around there. They're 4-0 against A&M.

Look a couple posts up where I addressed Mizzou's record. Also if you'll note that I posted the overall record and the record since becoming an SEC team.

What I posted there was OSU's winning records against SEC teams AS SEC teams. OSU has a losing record to Mizzou since Mizzou joined the SEC. Ohio State has not played A&M since A&M joined the SEC.

There's obviously multiple ways to look at it, but I decided to look at the record when they played a team with "SEC" on the jersey at kickoff.
