Welcome young man! Let's put on some weight and strength and knock some people down.

According to HUDL:
Position: Tackle
Height / Weight: 6'7" / 294
40 yd dash: 5.3
Vertical: 21"
Bench: 265
185 Bench Reps: 10
Squat: 500

Lower body strength, not bad. Needs upper body strength.

One EASY thing to tell is check their weight and their bench press and if they can't bench their weight then they need a REDSHIRT to get upper body strength.....so, most likely a redshirt project....

You can kind of tell that he lacks upper body strength just by looking at his pic. that was also the case with Richmond when he first came in

Too slow. We need some burners at OT.

I think it says something that we have signed two PWO offensive lineman who are legitimately able to possibly fill a starting spot if something tragic were to happen with our O-line. Building this depth at that position this fast is absolutely incredible IMO.

Project for sure. Needs some footwork/agility/body leverage work but would have been a scholarship take for lower tier programs. I'm sure he passed up offers to walk on so hope for nothing but the best for him.

I seem to recall back in the day that we had a couple walk on linemen that ended up getting All SEC honors. Can someone help with the names? This was way back around the time of the Munoz period.

You sure you’re not thinking of the twins that played for Kiffin? I was thinking ab that OL class that came in with Munoz the other day. I might be mistaken but I remember it as being stacked with highly rated guys - that ended up not being that great. Maybe a Brandon _____, can’t remember who all, but it was same year a friends’ OL son in Knox wasn’t recruited by UT (ended up being all-ACC his senior year & played in NFL for ab 6 yrs). So stars are definitely not everything.

Raw. Takes good angles. Understands concepts well. Great on sealing the end to the inside.

Needs tons of work on his footwork. Needs to increase physicality at the point of attack. Slowww in space. Needs heavy emphasis on footwork with focus of increasing speed.

Give him 3 years with a really good coach and might turn into a good lineman. Fulmer, in his day, could have turned him into a serviceable backup.

Big Boy...Looks a little slow but Welcome to Rocky Top.
Strength you can work on. Speed is a little harder to develop. Young man looks a little slow. However, he obviously loves him some Tennessee.

I wouldn't consider 5.3 40 slow for offensive lineman. That's probably about average for all lineman at NFL combine. I think Orlando Brown Jr ran 5.85 and he's doing fine with Browns.
