'26 NC QB Faizon Brandon (Tennessee commit)

Give me Savion Hiter and I’ll forget about Keys, go 0fer and I’m still screaming mid major staff
Avg’ing 9.6 wins per year the last 3 seasons isnt mid major per se, but to your point: our staff really does struggle recruiting in certain areas, mainly position coaches. Wr and oline mainly, we dont have any difference makers there that we need to take the next step

We are often in the mix for top talent among recievers and o line. Can't remember the last top 5 defensive back we were in on.

What if the best receiver doesn’t wanna go to UT
This seems to be your thing. You always say well what if the player just doesn’t like UT. I am sure that’s the case sometimes but come on. How many times do we hear a guy say oh I grew up a TN fan, I love TN or they are at the top. And then boom, they just go somewhere else. Does that really sound like a guy just doesn’t want to go to TN?

Growing up a fan of a team doesn’t mean jack except to people who remain fans and never become players

But why be does your answer to these threads always seem to be the same when it’s just seems illogical? Like I said, it’s not like some of these guys don’t say they like us or anything and commit elsewhere. You seem to always come up with well what if they just don’t like TN? So these recruits say they love the visit, the staff, the players, Knoxville, the stadium, facilities, game day environment and many other things but all of a sudden out of nowhere they just don’t wanna come here? Please.

I am sure that’s the case sometimes but the bottom line is we are getting our bid most of the time. Lay a bigger bag at Keys feet and I would be willing to bet he flips to us.

In the scenario you’re talking about, it’s simple. Recruits can love more than one place/visit. Just about every visit every recruit goes on has them saying the place was amazing, love the staff, the culture, and on and on.

No doubt sometimes it’s money. Other times it could just be they liked one of the many other places they visited more. Knoxville TN does not have exclusive rights to elite game day atmospheres, good coaching staffs, program history, top notch facilities, etc

MS is LSU territory.

As we have, we'd need to overpay. This is the player you do that for.

Mid major staff doesn’t go 10-2 and make the playoff. Mid major staff doesn’t average 10 wins over the last 3 seasons while playing in the SEC.
Not true. Boise St made it with a mid major staff. Our Defensive staff is really good, the offensive staff is very mid major! And doubt many would argue that.

Hot take: Looking at all the success other teams have had, I think paying already proven transfer QBs is the way to go. Obv Faizon has tremendous upside but if you're paying a premium already, why gamble?
I think its an issue with how a qb will be able to transfer. Paying the premium gets them on campus and part of the program and learning the play book. The issue is they still want to be paid like the one year rentals and forget about the sweet deal they had

Look at the teams that have won titles. Very few start proven transfers at QB. Will Howard at OSU was kind of an exception. McCarthy at UM. Burrow wasn’t that proven when he transferred to LSU. Bennett at UGA (wasn’t a transfer).

Most by of the teams that win championships do so with non transfer QBs.
