'19 NC QB Sam Howell

I think it has more to do with how signing day 2018 finished and we didn’t land any of the top targets we were after. Some even mocked us like Quay. With us losing Norton to UGA, Wanya now trending toward auburn and Howell towards FSU, it feels like we’re gonna be the bridesmaids a lot again. But maybe the staff isn’t that high on Howell. We’ll see what happens.

And as Ron pointed out, on NSD he had only be on the job for 2 months. 1 of those months was spent winning a NC with his old team. Pruitt can recruit but Jesus is the only person who could do more given the amount of time. Pruitt is pushing a boulder up a hill. It is possible but it IS going to require a little time.

It’s April, he’s been on the job 5 month, Tennessee went 4-8 last year and has pretty much sucked for a decade. Is it really surprising that we haven’t gotten weekly commits from 4 stars? Maybe it takes a little longer to build those relationships and close the deal. Or maybe it’s just easier to blame Pruitt and say he isn’t a good recruiter.

LOL

You’re wrong Ron. Anyone who is a realist knows its time to panic. 5 months is more than enough time to determine that the Pruitt experiment just isn’t gonna work.....

What, so he’s good enough for FSU but not us? If they have a better guy lined up, then cool, but you can’t let him just get away without a fight.

I didn't say that. Just that if they are slow playing him I doubt it's just because they're stupid as was implied. It is more likely that on their recruiting board there is a list of QB names and there are other names above his on said list. The hope would be that they are professionals and their evaluations are better than ours. Of course it could backfire but if they're slow playing a guy as talented as this guy appears then I would guess that they feel good about a better prospect. Which would be a good thing I think.

All I know is Jayden Daniels (Cali) is the #1 qb target for FSU. I don't think Howell goes to FSU even if Daniels doesn't go. JMO

Like I said earlier.....I think UT has a great chance to get him. My friends in Fla think it's between UT and Clemson. FWIW.....

I just dont understand how this young man can be so highly rated, seemed to love Tennessee and seemed to be wanting to commit to Tennessee but then we slow play him. Seems to me we would take the best qb that wants to be here and I really feel like he has great film. Maybe others have indicated the same interest in Tennessee and lead the coaches to believe they will commit to them like howell did. Tag hasnt really given off the vibe that he would commit to Tennessee, has he? Any others that we can think of that would be higher on the board than howell.

Because recruiting ratings and coaches rating may not be the same. I’d say QB is the one position that coaches need to be more particular on.

Jayden is not number 1 target. They like all three pretty equally. Jayden has the added benefit of having some elite teammates and 7v7 players. Walt Bell has recruited Howell since his freshman year, his his number one, but fsu will not turn down any of them.

I hear ya....just saying what I have been told. My "ears" very well could be totally incorrect.

Howell is more of a pro style than a spread like Taggart runs. His game is very similar to Mayfield. He is a much better fit for the Vols and Helton

You really think the family that moved to tuscaloosa alabama from hawaii to be closer with their son is going to let their other son go play for a rival.

He ain’t going to Bama now with Tyson committing. Not going back to Hawaii either. Could go anywhere else and last time I checked, Tennessee is not in Hawaii or Bambi.
