'21 NC RB Jaylen Wright (Tennessee signee)

Speed kills. Love this kid. When UT is at their best, they own North Carolina in recruiting or at least, pop shot the best players from there, especially western Carolina. UT is like those kids dream school, back in the day, like Shuler and Pickens. Lockdown that state again, with the way Charlotte is booming, Raliegh/Durham (our boy, JWright), and those western, border kids, UT reaps the benefits. Oh yeah, I almost forget about the NC kid that is putting his footprint back down in his home state, for UT, Jay Graham. Since I've been lockdown I have watched a lot of 90s UT videos and Graham showed out. Loved him and still do to this day, will never understand why he wasn't a better pro player. Big with breakaway speed. Anyway, rambling again, in the immortal words of Petey Pablo, "Raise Up" North Carolina.

I’m afraid it’s damn near impossible to lockdown NC now anymore. With Clemson humming the way they are and Mack making everyone think that the “sleeping giant” has arisen from its lifelong coma and UGA doing what they do it’s definitely more difficult than it used to be. We need to start winning some big time games again. I think we’re going to.

Once we start winning(OU game would be a great start), then North Carolina will be ours. Phil Fulmer still owns half the state.

But on the flip side the state is producing way more prospects than 20-30 years ago.

Pruitt has pretty good player evaluations despite their star ranking.

Very true. Funny how that works isn't it? It's almost like the football coach who's livelihood depends on identifying talented football players is better at doing so than people who work for services that only bump the ratings of kids who show up to their camps

The very best part of your accurate analysis is that CJP can get hard commitments for real talent who "fail" the star test. A HS player who gets a bunch of letters or calls or even the occasional visit, who sees himself as devalued b/c he is a 2-3 star, can be uplifted to his true worth when coaches like we have tell him exactly that.

This uplifting is gold. Gold for the undervalued athlete and his parents or caretakers. It's a sell by sincerity and recognition for who he really is and f****it what anyone else says.

IMO, it's the best way for CJP et al to rebuild the program. Hat's off to them for finding this niche.
