'19 NC RB Quavaris Crouch (Tennessee signee)

We’ll see. Only positive is switching WVa for BYU.

We lost 6 games last year by 25 or more points....that’s a ton of ground to make up. We can be a good bit better and still lose 7 games again. Georgia, Florida, Alabama and Miss State are 4 certain losses. Neither BYU nor UAB will be gimme OOC games, will likely split those two. Left with SCar, Ky, Vandy and Missouri....Vandy and Mizzou own us, and we can’t beat Muschamp no matter where he coaches. Kentucky is the only game I’d feel comfortable about winning among those 4, figure a split is about what we should expect. 5-7 again imo.

Well--I know that you know the game KB. I just think that you've adopted a "...sky is falling..." attitude right now and cannot or will not see the improvement that CJP has made.
And I have no criticism for you as last season was extremely disheartening--and yet, for me, it wasn't as bad as 2017. I do have hope in CJP and his crew because they're NOT former band players, but true FB men who have been there and done that at the highest level!

CJP is dealing not only with a LACK of talent, but with the poison of quitting attitudes as CBJ's players were just not willing to adjust to his demands. It's common knowledge now that practicing for stitch Jones was more about feeling good than getting down and dirty into the hard work of development into SEC caliber players. CJP ain't about to make it any easier for anybody on the team. Some get with it, and some, like Sapp--get gone.

Regarding next year, I only see what I would say were two certifiable losses: UGA and BAMA. The rest to me are 50/50....even Fla.

Vandy, Mizzou, and SCe all lose a lot of talent.
I expect Miss. State to fall off the map because of losing their QB and 10 players from their 2-deep depth chart.

I know we have disagreed about JG, but if our OL reasonably improves...and JG improves or another QB gives us better play...we'll be better on offense.
And I think we'll be BETTER in our defensive front 7 next year across the board, with better depth.

Don't get me wrong, I don't think we gonna compete for the East crown, but I'm just not willing at this time to write the team off as 5-7 or 6-6 for next year.

GO VOLS!

If we get Crouch what position are we recruiting him for linebacker or running back

Maybe we should think outside the box here. I will give an example and then bring it back to this situation.

When the government told car companies they had to increase miles per gallon of gas the average person thought that meant more 4 cylinders or less power.

Car companies became smarter and realized it could be an option instead of the rule. Offer econo to comply but offer less gas efficient options where the driver could switch modes. Which brings me back to how coaches told Crouch they could use him.

Hopefully the coaches offered to plans. And offensive plan behind the two future All-Pro bookend tackles, and a defensive plan in case he wants to do the hitting. I think that would impress Crouch notwithstanding the injury concerns.

We hinted around the Quavaris Crouch stuff earlier in the week. I noted not to discount the Vols in my 10 Things piece and that they were getting the final in-home visit. The trip this weekend was scheduled then, too, but Tennessee didn’t want the information out there. Crouch spoiled the bit with his social media videos, but suffice to say, the quiet visit has gone well for the Vols. We’ll see what other information we glean over the next couple days, but Tennessee certainly has Clemson sweating a bit over this one now. One thing to keep in my with Crouch: He doesn’t plan on signing anywhere Wednesday. He will make his announcement at the All-American Bowl in Texas on Jan. 5, simply singing a financial aid agreement afterward.

Dude please go to the FF forum. You do belong there. You can go and be depressed and bring it on others. Just leave loser!

The amount of butthurtness and meltdown over JG criticism is incredible. KBVol consoles himself by constantly putting down everything else to ease JG's status.

I'm surprised he just didn't take a hiatus to lick his wounds.

Appreciate the civil response. Just respectfully disagree.

It was a good post...... But the only guaranteed losses are Bama and Georgia and the rest are 50/50 statement is delusional. Plus, I'm not sure what improvement he is talking about. Record still stinks, and we are the worst in the SEC at too many positions, mainly Quarterback

“Mainly quarterback”? We are indeed the worst in the SEC at most positions, but qb ain’t one of them. He wasn’t great last year, but relatively speaking he was one of the very lone bright spots. We’ll see what he looks like going forward. But the reason we were blown out by 25+ points in half our game last year had little to do with JG. OL, DL, LBs, S were much more problematic areas imo.

Hey, did you know we're having a big recruiting weekend?

From Clemson Rivals

So here is what we know or can shed further light on regarding Charlotte (N.C.) Harding high-four star outside linebacker Quavaris Crouch:

Crouch (6-3, 238), ranked No. 30 nationally by Rivals.com, took an unofficial visit to Tennessee yesterday in conjunction with the Vols playing host to numerous official visitors. He posted pictures on his Instagram account early this morning.

This on the heels of Tennessee coach Jeremy Pruitt conducting his in-home Thursday – two days after Clemson defensive coordinator Brent Venables paid the Tigers’ final in-person visit.

Crouch has planned to announce his decision at the Jan. 5 U.S. Army All-American game in San Antonio, Texas.

There are a couple of weeks left to go before Crouch goes public and based on this weekend’s developments, our initial feedback indicates there is increased skepticism on the Tigers’ end they will be the choice.

This one is now up in the air.

We will have more on Crouch and other remaining Clemson targets in our Monday Insider.
