I took it as him bashing Rivals (rightfully so) and bashing people in Crouch's camp for giving him what he viewed as "bad advice." It wasn't written well, no. So according to Shurburtt, QC won't be "elite, elite" unless he plays RB, and if he plays LB he only has the "potential to be All-SEC and maybe a high NFL draft pick at that position"? Did I read that right?

And given what we are learning about CTE and the extremely short shelf-life of RB's, Shurburtt is going to bash the kid for not wanting to play that position long term?

That is just some major rationalizations to make yourself feel better when something doesn't go your way.

Clemson is recruiting him to play RB....Crouch does not want to play RB because "He doesn't want to take the hits"...TN is recruiting him solely for defense.
