Or the bag man's check finally cleared lol. But in all seriousness I think the O line was identified as our achilles heel early on and Wanya and Darnell recieved the bulk of "resources" from the beginning of the recuriting cycle but that's just my opinionI have since early this summer gotten a different vibe from Crouch. His early interviews about how much he enjoyed Tennessee, the drive through the mountains, the coaching staff, and how much he lets his faith guide his decisions.
If this was your typical prima-donna blue chip kid who loved the process, then I'd be worried about Clemson. But he was all Vol in his heart early. Then we had a piss poor season and I think he went with what was perceived as the logical choice with Clemson. I think this revisit with the staff this week reminded him how much his heart was in Tennessee.
Call me naïve. Call me blissfully unaware. I think this guy along with Darnell are full fledged Vols in the same thread as Wanya.
i like the way you're thinking, and ultimatley, i think you're right....i think TN has been in the back of their minds thru out the process for good reason. i think we've done a fantastic job of recruiting both of these kids.I have since early this summer gotten a different vibe from Crouch. This is a huge recruiting win if we hang on but I don't think we are in a position to get all hoyty toyty and start looking down our nose at people when we have been boatraced by Vanderbilt 3 years running.
depends on what he signs IIRC, LOI, no they can't contact him. at least if they know he signed. which would be a giveaway. Just financial aid, yes they can, and WE get in trouble if he signs elsewhere. cause yay NCAA. unless they fixed that.Once he signs other schools can't contact him anymore, correct? So we'll know prior to 1/5.
I think early on his preference was RB. but then he got hurt again playing RB and I think that convinced him. I think since the injury pretty much everyone is looking at him as LB. at least to start. Was there a hang up at one time about recruiting him as LB and he was determined to be a RB in college or am I thinking someone else.

So do they sign scholarship papers later, or do the schools get to have them plus a scholarship? One thing I learned following basketball recruiting also and especially the recruits that drag things out is you never actually have to sign a NLOI, you can just sign financial aid papers and then just basically show up at your school of choice when classes begin. I assume that applies to football also and as far as I know nothing has changed with that rule.
yeah, my understanding is the LOI is just saying what school you are going to and at that point other schools can't talk to you. unless you are Kiffin on the flight to USC. its not a "contract" with the school as far as scholarship or anything else. its just officially reserving your spot. tifwiwDon't have to sign an NLI to receive athletic financial aid, the NLI is voluntary. I don't know how they look for football, but here is one my daughter signed when playing softball at UTC. She signed financial aid at the same time as the NLI.

Thanks! I was mixing up the LOI with the scholarship. Thought when you signed that it was giving you a scholarship.
At least a couple of Tennessee’s top targets who are planning to be early enrollees aren’t expected to announce their decisions this week. Elite athlete Quavaris Crouch of Charlotte, N.C., still is set to reveal his choice Jan. 5 at the All-American Bowl in San Antonio, and while nothing has been entirely ruled out, a source close to his recruitment said Crouch isn’t expected to sign this week during the early signing period. Even if Crouch decided to sign early, he’s not expected to make his decision known until the all-star game. Sources close to Crouch have continued to indicate that he had a great time at Tennessee over the weekend, though, and the Vols still have some momentum with him coming off his trip to Knoxville. But it's possible they’ll have to continue recruiting him over the next few weeks leading up to his announcement.
