'19 NC RB Quavaris Crouch (Tennessee signee)

Clemson Rivals Update....cue the fireworks.

It’s already been a wild, rollercoaster early signing period for Clemson.

There’s one more day left. And one more target in the crosshairs with it.

Rivals.com regional analyst Adam Friedman broke the news Wednesday that Charlotte (N.C.) Harding high-four athlete Quavaris Crouch is expected to sign his national letter-of-intent today before the early signing period closes. We had previously indicated that our sources believed Crouch would sign, though there hadn’t been public confirmation.

As you know, Clemson was viewed as the frontrunner until Crouch took an under-the-radar unofficial visit to Tennessee last weekend.

We then brought to light Sunday that the Vols were now to be deemed the favorite, and we put in our FutureCast for Crouch to Tennessee.

According to what we were told Thursday night, Clemson has had multiple discussions this week with Crouch and his camp. He signed financial aid agreements with all three suitors to position himself to apply for enrollment with whomever he chooses.

The bottom line is, we have had multiple contacts in Charlotte with knowledge of his recruitment tell us that the Tigers are out.

We would tell you that the leading voice within the Crouch camp is casting this as a battle between Tennessee and Michigan. We don’t believe Michigan has actually entered the race so much as the intent is to frame Clemson as being out.

Wait, is this guy trying to low-key indicate that Crouch is setting up a “shock the world” moment?

It’s funny because there is a lot of sour grapes from my Clemson contacts about them bowing out because the recruitment got shady like they wouldn’t get their hands dirty.

Makes me know we are back where we belong in the recruiting game.
Damn if we are getting shady I'd like to think we could at least make it top 10.

In terms of publicity and momentum heading into the late signing period, it's probably better for him to wait and announce on national TV. Every uncommitted recruit will probably be watching that game.

after near a decade of following this stuff semi religiously, I can tell you it makes no difference. the difference is in peer recruiting more so than saying it on TV. Itd be better for us for him to sign and hit the recruits we are after than do it on a NSD or all star game surprise. Those satisfy the feelz in the moment but dont last to make a difference in a recruitment. that's my observation.
