“Crouch brings a lot to the table on both sides of the ball. At 6-3 and close to 230 pounds, he is a wrecking ball as a running back or an linebacker. He obviously doesn’t have as much experience as a linebacker but at Tennessee that is where they are going to start him off at.
He is a physical tackler. He knows how to get to the quarterback. He can rush the passer off the edge. He has a few pass rushing moves that we saw in spot duty last year, but most of what we have seen from him has been on the offensive side fo the ball. As a junior, he ran for 3,000 yards. He had a ton of touchdowns. He was the Gatorade Player of the Year in the state of North Carolina. Tennessee has a lot to work with from an athletic standpoint as they teach him how to play linebacker and really fit in to this scheme.
And they have the safety valve in that if it doesn’t really work out at linebacker, he could always be a very good running back in the SEC. A really great job of recruiting by Tennessee.
