'19 NC RB Quavaris Crouch (Tennessee signee)

D4H says this guy is a pass. Not sure why everyone is getting so excited.

Also, not sure how to make the font blue on mobile.

He also said he was staring to question CJP’s ability to spot talent (paraphrasing ) 😂

Who’s to say Niedermeyer can’t also coach?

TE position doesn’t require much, but in his video he looked engaged and detailed.

Edit: I see where my post sounds contemptuous, so mea culpa on the poor verbiage. Always been a fan of the true tight end and a system that incorporates it. It’s the low end of the totem pole for position groups is all I’m saying. The hiring criteria is low bar and most HC’s are considering other factors when they hire the coach. It seems to be regarded as more easily teachable that doesn’t require a high threshold to come up to speed.

Don't know about that. Seems like a tough position to coach. He also seems like a good coach

Seems like they throw an awful lot of relatively inexperienced coaches there and pay them relatively low salaries. I commented that he seemed engaged...so he’s already better than Dooley. :) TE’s coach isn’t a lifetime coaching goal. It might be a great fit for him because of his recruiting prowess.

That was from April.

Saw some people asking how could he not know who Weinke is. I would think the opposite way, imagine his surprise when Weinke told him he won a Heisman, or shoot, bring it to his office when he came to visit. Kids would love to brag they are being coached by a Heisman winner. Shoot, I’d brag at my age lol.

There's a reason TE's don't typically produce in the NFL until year 3. It could be argued that TEs have the most versatility on the football field. To be successful, you have to know:

- Playbook/snap assignments
- Run/Pass Blocking technique and assignments
- Routes/Hot Routes/Audible calls
- Route Running
- Catching technique
- Proper tuck of the football
- How to cut/stiff arm/rest of the Madden buttons
- How to fend off positional butt jokes

It's physically ideal to have the body of a basketball player, the strength of a tackle, and the speed of a WR...

I mean... If you had to field an entire team of just one position... it would be a bunch of TEs... hopefully, one could throw the ball... Niedermeyer has his work cut out for him :)

You catch the ball and you block. They put coaches learning the craft there...and at RB.

I could go on about it but I don’t think you care that much and it just really doesn’t matter. However, just consider everything they have to go... safeties of the offense.

I think you get overly miffed when whatever you spout isn’t accepted as gospel. I haven’t cast aspersions on the POSITION...just the level of coaches they assign to that position. Maybe it’s because TE’s haven’t been universally appreciated until lately (they weren’t by Walt Harris and David Cutcliffe), but that coaching position isn’t where you deposit your regarded TEACHERS. It’s an on field position you stash your recruiters and up and comers. Whatever the nuances that position group needs instilled, the majority of successful coaches trust their coaching neophytes to accomplish. Just sayin. :)

Niedermeyer played TE, so it was better him than the next potentially good recruiter who hadn’t. :dunno:

No that’s not what I am doing... I just realized how my comment sounded... I was trying to say I could go on about it but I don’t think you care in regards to going in to specifics because it really doesn’t matter. My only point was being a TE is very difficult but I am not saying you are wrong. Sorry for how that typed out, I no longer try to do that because there’s bigger things in life...

the vols had several other targets on campus this week headlined by 5-star quavaris crouch. They continue to make strong in-roads with the nation’s no. 5 prospect. No decision or commitment timeline has been for crouch, but the vols have positioned themselves strongly after three visits before july 4.
