it was not well done. I think it could have been cool, but they were way too rushed, and nothing coordinated on them.
I loved the smokey grey unforms with the matching helmet and will miss them. I really wanna see an orange jersey, pants and helmet combo.
Btw, a win in Charlotte against WV with Crouch in attendance can't hurt UT chances with him
VQSCUTTLE: Crouch had a busy spring, visiting Tennessee, Clemson, South Carolina, Florida State and Michigan, but the 5-star athlete took a step back from recruiting late in the summer as he finished his rehab and prepared for his senior year. The Vols had some early momentum here, and while they're still very much in the mix for Crouch, FSU, Clemson and others have certainly make up ground. The Charlotte native is slated to see the Vols this weekend against West Virginia, and the next step for Tennessee is setting up an OV date.
- SimontonVols are going to push for an OV, I can assure you that.
Crouch visited here twice in the spring, but FSU and Clemson have made a move it seems. He also took a trip to Michigan and now wants to see USC. NC State is also still involved since his brother plays there.
The good news for Tennessee is he isn't make a decision anytime soon and Niedermeyer, Helton and Sherrer will continue to recruit him hard.
- SimontonNo. I was curious if that was going to happen over the summer, but then his hip bounced back faster than many anticipated. Georgia isn't a factor here, but I know he was working out some Carolina Panthers players including LB Thomas Davis.
Now, I wasn't aware of the recent ankle injury. So if other ailments start to persist then maybe that happens.
IN HIS OWN WORDS…
“I have official visits to Clemson, Michigan, and Florida State set up right now,” Crouch said. “I’m going to set up one to Alabama and to see the (USC) Trojans. I’ll be at Michigan for the Wisconsin game, Florida State for the Florida game, and for Clemson I think it’ll be the Duke game but I’m not sure so it might be in December.”
“I’m a mid-year guy so I’m not sure when I’ll commit,” he said. “It’s kind of crazy. I think I’ll wait till after my official visits but I’m not really sure. It’ll be whenever I really feel like I know where I want to go.
“I’m looking for a school where I’ll be a good fit on and off the field,” said Crouch. “I think to myself a lot and will figure out where I am most comfortable.
Clemson- “There really is nothing new with the Clemson coaches,” he said. “We really just talk about football. They are just saying they want me and wherever I want to play they will figure it out when I get there. That’s really want a lot of the schools are saying.”
Michigan- “Honestly, Michigan is saying the same thing as Clemson,” said Crouch. “I played in the Hough game and was planning on using some of the things I learn from Don Brown but hurt my ankle before I could play defense.
”Florida State- “They are on the rise and they need linebackers,” he said. “My boy Sam Howell is going there and I like coach Woodie. We'll see what happens."
Alabama- “Alabama is always going to be Alabama,” Crouch said. “They are consistent. I’ve been watching that ESPN show. I like it but it’s TV and you never know if that how it really is down there. I do like how coach Saban runs things because that’s how I am as a player. I love how he does everything but I don’t know if that’s the spot for me.”
USC- “When I went to the Army All-American Bowl in January I was with JT Daniels and Amon-Ra St. Brown
” he said. “They’re at USC now and they’re starting. It would be a great three-two punch if I went out there and played running back in the Pac-12. It wouldn’t be as much stress on my body. That might be a school for me and if you have a quarterback you have a chance to win anyways. If you don’t have a quarterback it’s really hard.”
On his upcoming unofficial visits: “I’m going to see the Tennessee and West Virginia game on Saturday,” said Crouch. “Other than that, I’m not sure. I’m going to see South Carolina play Georgia too.”
Tennessee- “Nothing is really new with them,” he said. “I’ve always liked Tennessee and coach Pruitt. He’s a good guy and really loyal. I just want to see what they do with that program because they are rebuilding.
--RivalsRIVALS’ REACTION…
Crouch has reemerged and his recruitment is still keeping most people guessing. The same group of schools, Michigan, Tennessee, Florida State, Clemson, and N.C. State, are still at the core of his recruitment but Crouch has never been shy about making sure he has as much information as possible. Taking his official visits will help him be as informed as possible before making any sort of commitment. Crouch’s official visits to Alabama and USC will likely be in early December unless he can find a weekend during his season to get away.
